George Alan O'Dowd is a British pop singer and DJ better known by his stage name Boy George, during the 1980s as the cross-dressing, openly homosexual lead singer of the pop/new wave music group Culture Club. The former heroin addict was convicted of cocaine possession in Manhattan in 2006. He was convicted for handcuffing a male escort to a bed against his will and then beating him with a chain in 2008.[1] He was sentenced to fifteen months' imprisonment and served four months.
