Blue and White is a center-left political party in Israel. It is the second-largest party behind Likud within the Knesset, and at one time was part of a national unity governing coalition with them. Its leader, Benny Gantz, previously served as Chief of General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The name comes from the colors of the Israeli flag, and the term itself is colloquially used to describe something as being typically Israeli (similar to something American being described as "red, white and blue").
Originally a political alliance between the Israeli Resilience Party formed for the April 2019 Knesset elections, Yesh Atid and Telem, when the latter two dropped out afterwards, the Resilience Party took the name for itself.
