Black bloc, sometimes Antifa black bloc, are uniformed black-shirt leftists who employ violence for political ends. In the 21st century, they wear black clothing, ski masks, scarves, sunglasses, motorcycle helmets with padding, or other face-concealing and face-protecting items. Antifa black bloc have been identified as provocateurs of both the Minneapolis riots in the wake the death of George Floyd, and the January 6, 2021 Capitol Hill protests.[4] Black bloc were responsible for the Portland, Oregon riots for several years prior to 2021, and hundreds of incidents throughout the summer of 2021 resulting in over $2 billion in damages nationwide and at least 40 deaths.

A Time magazine survey found 570 leftwing terrorist incidents in 220 cities between May 24, 2020 and August 22, 2020.[5]

CNN and NBC contractor John Sullivan is a Black bloc trainer and instructor.[6] Sullivan was an instigator and provatuer at Antifa / Black Lives Matter black bloc events in Provo, Utah and Washington, D.C. which resulted in shootings and deaths.[7][8][9]

Antifa black bloc have assaulted journalist Andy Ngo, causing serious injury, and have continued an harassment campaign of death threats.
