Asympotomatic carrier

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by StephenE (Talk | contribs) at 17:56, July 28, 2009. It may differ significantly from current revision.

An asympotomatic carrier is a carrier which shows no symptoms of carrying an infectious agent. In the California highlands, squirrels are asymptomatic carriers of the bubonic plague. Asymptomatic carriers were a significant problem for public health in earlier centuries; Typhoid Mary infected nearly fifty people, though she never manifested symptoms herself.
