Anita Hill

Anita Hill, born July 30, 1956 (age 67), is a law professor at Brandeis University. She is best known for her testimony during United States Senate confirmation hearings on Clarence Thomas's appointment to the US Supreme Court. The Senate rejected her claims of harassment and voted to confirm Thomas in 1991.

Sen. Joseph Biden, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, held extended hearings to accommodate her last-minute allegations and traumatize the country with televised hearings. Biden has been roundly criticized for his racist, sexist, and bigotted handling of the hearings,

Hill's testimony focused on Thomas's alleged comments ten years earlier, when he was her supervisor at the U.S. Department of Education, and later at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Hill claims she felt sexually harassed, but never did adequately explain why she continued to go out of her way to work for Thomas, including following him as he changed jobs and why she never reported it until he was being nominated to the Supreme Court. Thomas said he would rather have been the victim of an assassin's bullet than to have done to him what Anita Hill was trying to do. David Brock outed Anita Hill as a lesbian trying to further the far left pro-abortion feminist and homosexual agendas to explain her motivations.

Democrats resented a Republican president appointing a conservative African-American role model to the Supreme Court, who would not commit to upholding abortion. Barack Obama was recruited to register 125,000 black voters in a primary challenge to incumbent Democrat Senator Alan Dixon, who voted to confirm Thomas, and elect far leftist Carol Moseley-Braun.
