Albertus Magnus

Albertus Magnus (Lauingen 1193/1206 – Cologne 1280) also known as Saint Albert the Great was a Dominican friar and priest. He is one of only 33 people designated a Doctor of the Church by the Catholic Church, achieving the honor in 1931. Albertus Magnus is considered the greatest German philosopher and theologian of the Middle Ages.

For his prolific work and encyclopedic knowledge he is considered a polymath.
