IT, the (partial) answer to your question is that firstly, I am a biomedical researcher. Through the study of life I have come to appreciate, in a way that I suspect perhaps only those who delve deeply into the mysteries of life can, that living organisms consist of incomprehensibly complex systems that are exquisitely tuned to support their function. This balance of nature is so delicate and so apparently carefully calculated that it could not have arisen by chance. It is simply the discovery process that has strengthened my faith that science is inadequate to explain all that we see. If you are interested in scientific creationism (I think that term encapsulates its many forms), another excellent book is ''The Science of God'' by Gerald Schroeder. Although as a Jew he fails to account for many of the important theological truths, he does an excellent job of reconciling modern physics and cosmology with the Biblical account of creation.
