Beavers are two species of large, aquatic, flat-tailed rodent of the Northern hemisphere. The only larger rodent is the capybara.

Beavers live in dams, some of immense size, which they construct by felling waterside trees. Though superficially this can appear destructive, the activities of beavers do much to preserve the existing forms of rivers and stabilise their flow, and provide significant areas of wetland habitat in their vicinity.

Beaver fur was formerly much sought after, and unrestricted hunting and trapping has done much to reduce their range both in North America, and in Europe, where it historically became extinct in Great Britain and France, though reintroduction programmes are now underway.

Beaver Trivia
*The beaver is the national animal of Canada.

*During the 18th century, the beaver was ruled to be a fish by the Roman Catholic Church, on the basis of the Summa Theologica by Thomas Aquinas. As such, it may be consumed during Lent.

*Beaver is also used as a slang for a chick's hairy pussy.

What a deceitful person. -Wwwknow 21:40, 29 August 2007 (EDT)
:What are you suggesting, that he be impeached? Rob Smith 21:50, 29 August 2007 (EDT)

No. The Constitution limits impeachment only for treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. And let's be practical: Craig would resign before he's impeached.-Wwwknow 20:37, 30 August 2007 (EDT)
:But's only about sex, and there seems to rampant and rabid anti-gay sentiment behind much of this criticism. Rob Smith 20:43, 30 August 2007 (EDT)

It's not only about sex, actually. The real problem with Craig is, I believe, that he keeps lying to the public. I mean, if he's gay he should admit it, simply because there's enough evidence and because he's a public figure, and put an end to this sory. --Whiteflower 10:10, 31 August 2007 (EDT)

Whiteflower:

Larry Craig has been a Republican United States Senator from the state of Idaho since 1991. From 1981 to 1991 he represented Idaho in the United States House of Representatives. He is generally considered to be a social conservative and is also a strong advocate of the proposed Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution.

He will end his term in November 2008.

Incident at Minneapolis Airport
On June 11, 2007, Craig was arrested by an officer investigating complaints of lewd conduct in a men's bathroom at the Minneapolis airport. The officer alleged that Craig looked through a restroom stall door for two minutes and tapped his toes several times as a signal. Despite pleading guilty to a disorderly conduct charge stemming from that incident, Craig denies the allegations and has since said that he regrets pleading guilty.

Reaction
According to Craig's media person, the incident in Minneapolis is one in a series of smears by the local media. In a statement released on August 28, 2007, Craig said "For 8 months leading up to June, my family and I had been relentlessly and viciously harassed by the Idaho Statesman. If you’ve seen today’s paper, you know why. Let me be clear: I am not gay and never have been."

On August 27, Craig resigned from a prominent role with Republican Mitt Romney's presidential campaign. He had been one of Romney's top Senate supporters, serving as a liaison since early 2007.

Asked about Craig, Romney said, "He's disappointed the American people. I think it reminds us of Mark Foley and Bill Clinton," he said on CNBC's "Kudlow & Company." .

On a television interview, Presidential candidate John McCain commented on the case: "It's disgraceful."
