Archery is the art or sport of shooting a bow. Bowhunting is the use of archery equipment to hunt game.

Humans have practiced archery since very early times. Genesis 27:3 contains the Bible's first mention of a bow, when Isaac asks Esau to go hunt some game for him. Early bows were simple. Arrows were made of wood with stone arrowheads. It was an important part of warfare until the 15th century when its importance started to decline due to gunpowder weapons. By the late 18th century, it was making a comeback yet again - as a sport.

Today, archery is a highly competitive sport, included in the Olympic Games since 1900.

Archers use a variety of types of bows. Recurve bows are available in both modern styles, usually with an alloy or composite handle and laminated wood, fibreglass or foam limbs, and traditional styles laminated from wood, horn, sinew and leather or skin. Compound bows are a modern design which uses eccentric cams to "let off" the force required to hold back the string as maximum draw is reached, allowing the archer to aim more carefully. Longbows come in various types, all of which are traditional and are made of laminated or plain wood, with the best known being the English longbow. Arrows are now available with alloy, fibreglass or carbonfibre shafts as well as the traditional wood, and fletchings are often made of plastics instead of feathers.
For example, apologising "on behalf of the white race" for slavery in the United States, despite the fact that both the slave-owners and slaves are long since dead, and supporting "compensation" to African-Americans, by virtue of the crimes of another generation.

The Druze are a religious group living mainly in the Middle East. Their religion is an offshoot of Islam, but also incorporates other religious elements.

The Druze (or Druse) comprise a closely knit religious community estimated at 300,000-450,000 people. Most live in Syria and Lebanon; smaller groups are in Israel and Jordan.
The spiritual leader of the Druze in Israel is Sheik Mowafaq Tarif.

History
The Druze religion originated in 1017 AD, when the Fatimid Caliph al-Hakim declared himself to be the final incarnation of God. The name Druze comes from al-Hakim's first missionary, al-Darazi (d. 1019). The Druzes' first imam (religious leader), however, was Hamza ibn Ali, al-Darazi's rival. After al-Hakim disappeared in 1021, Hamza developed the doctrines of the faith, which included the belief that al-Hakim would return on Judgment Day

For centuries the Druze were hostile to the Ottoman Empire, leading numerous revolts, often with support from Christian states in Europe.

Around 1630, Druze emir Fakhr al-Din Ma'n (1572-1635) gained effective control of provinces of the Ottoman Empire along the coasts of Syria and Palestine. His rise, fall from power, and eventual execution shed light on the decentralized nature of the Ottoman state, how the Ottomans tolerated and even encouraged factional fighting among provincial elites, and the efforts of Medici Tuscany to establish footholds in the eastern Mediterranean. The key to Fakhr al-Din's political success lay in his ability to mobilize local resources and to work with foreign consuls and merchants to provide security for the Mediterranean trade so vital to the region's economic well-being.
Maronite conflict
The Maronite-Druze conflict in Lebanon, 1840-60 was an outgrowth of the Maronite Christian independence movement directed against the Druze and Ottoman-Turks. The civil war was not therefore a religious war, except in Damascus where it spread and where the population was anti-Christian. The movement culminated with the 1859-60 massacre and defeat of the Christians by the Druzes, who were aided by the Turks. French intervention on behalf of the Maronites did not help the Maronite national movement since France was restricted in 1860 by Britain which did not want the Ottoman Empire dismembered. But European intervention pressured the Turks to treat the Maronites more justly.
Israel
The government of Israel encourages Druze separatism from Israel's Arab minority through a special educational curriculum emphasizing Druze history and culture, Druze folklore, a calendar of holy days and feasts, and the 'invention of traditions,' including pilgrimages and festivals, associated with the rebuilt or even newly created 'maqamat' (holy places).
United States
The American Druze community began in 1881, and pockets of settlement were established without weakening their links to Lebanon. The Arabic language is still used within the communities. The Druze, who see themselves as Islamic but not Muslim, have been active in Arab-American organizations, and in the 1980s the American Druze Public Affairs Committee was formed specifically to counter the Zionist lobby.

Religion
The most authoritative Druze religious text is the Kitab al-hikma (Book of Wisdom), a collection of 111 letters, some of them written by al-Hakim and Hamza. The community is divided into two groups: the uqqual and the juhhal. The uqqual are those initiated into the teachings of the hikma (religious doctrine); the juhhal, comprising the great majority of the population, are unfamiliar with these tenets

ThomasMacD: al Qaeda is not a cult; it's a terrorist group.

Wahhabi or Wahhabism is a an extreme sect in Salafist Islam. The movement is predominant in Saudi Arabia, and is an important element in the shaping and propagation of Islamic fundamentalism. Many Muslim terrorists are adherents, including Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda terrorist group.

History
Wahhabi fundamentalism originated with Syrian jurist Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1703–92), but was hounded by the more moderate leaders of the Ottoman Empire. In the early 19th century, alarmed by the increasing influence of Wahhabism in Saudi-controlled Arabia, the Ottoman Empire urged its Egyptian vassal Muhammad Ali Pasha (1769-1849) to mount an armed attack on the movement, which was considered anti-Turkish. Muhammad Ali began operations in 1811, and bitter fighting ensued on and off, with several cease-fires and impermanent peace agreements being tried until Egypt finally seemed to have succeeded (with the help of some Bedouin tribes that also objected to the stern religious views of Wahhabism) in subduing Arabia by 1818. However, Egypt had to concentrate on insurrections at home, and the Saudi Wahhabists eventually recovered their strength in the 1830s. The were confined to Arabia but Abdul Aziz ibn Saud (1876-1953), the founder of modern Saudi Arabia in 1924, was faithful to the Wahhabi sect, as are his hundreds of sons and grandsons who still rule the country.
Recent
Once the Saudis gained oil money they used it to spread the sect. Wahhabism's explosive growth outside Arabia began in the 1970s when Saudi charities started funding Wahhabi schools (madrassas) and mosques from Pakistan to California.

Since the Bosnian war ended in 1995, Wahhabis from Saudi Arabia have infiltrated Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo primarily to rebuild destroyed mosques in the Saudi style and to convert Balkan Muslims to Wahhabi fundamentalism - much to the displeasure of local Muslims, who are largely non-practicing, as well as American and European diplomats in the region concerned about Muslim radicalism.

Beliefs
It is a fundamentalist version of Islam that insists on a literal interpretation of the Qur'an. It rejects all luxury, dancing, gambling, music, and tobacco, as well as alcohol, and punishes infractions severely, often with death. Strict Wahhabis believe that all those who do not practice their form of Islam are heathens and enemies.

Critics say that Wahhabism's rigidity has led it to misinterpret and distort Islam, pointing to Wahhabi extremists such as Osama bin Laden and the Taliban.
History of Comet Observation and Exploration
Comets as a class were known to the ancients, and some of the most prominent and regularly appearing comets observed today appear in ancient records. For example, Chinese records mention a recurrent comet beginning in 240 BC. That comet is most likely Comet Halley, whose discoverer, Edmond Halley, was the first to predict a comet's reappearance in advance. Comet Halley also appeared on April 24, 1066, to astounded onlookers in England prior to the conquest of England by the Normans, as depicted in the Tapestry of Bayeux.

In fact, comets have been observed for far longer in history. The ancient Greeks called them "evil stars," which in Greek is dys evil and astron a star. This is the origin of the modern word disaster. The association of comets with untoward events or prophecies continued as recently as the twentieth century, when Comet Halley made an unusually close rendezvous with earth.

Today, amateur astronomers often discover comets. Recent computerized sky surveys now find most comets as they approach the sun.

Parts of a comet
The nucleus or head of a comet is a lightweight ball of rock, dust, and ice that resembles a dirty snowball. As a comet approaches the sun at 5 AU or closer, the coma forms. This is the base of the two tails of the comet. The ice begins to melt and vaporize, and the solar wind blows the liberated particles away from the sun. The dust forms one tail, and ions form another.

Comet nuclei are currently thought to measure 16 kilometers across or less. A comet nucleus shines with reflected light only. A comet's coma often absorbs ultraviolet radiation and becomes fluorescent. In so doing it can shine more brightly than does the nucleus. A comet's tails can extend for 160 million kilometers and thus appear larger than the constellation of Ursa Major, and occasionally brighter than the Milky Way itself.

Since 1981, satellite-based cameras have repeatedly photographed a number of objects striking earth's atmosphere and vaporizing. These might in fact be small cometary nuclei, each as large as a house. Remarkably, these objects tend to strike more frequently in the early fall than in the early winter. Some critics contend that these objects are mere camera noise, but experiments to replicate house-sized comets have succeeded in duplicating the observed effects.

Meteor showers often occur with comets, as the earth passes through the dust tail and some of the dust enters the atmosphere. Oddly, such showers almost always occur during late summer or fall.

In 1998 and 1999, Meier et al. published at least three papers showing that comets are remarkably rich in deuterium or "heavy" hydrogen. This included deuterated water (HDO) to 12,000 years. A comet may make a limited number of orbits before all its volatile substances sublimate away, leaving behind an asteroid-like rock. Certain asteroid-like objects, called damocloids, in highly eccentric orbits around the sun might be inactive comets. 21 such objects are known. Some authorities estimate that half of all near-earth asteroids are in fact cometary remnants.

Origin
Uniformitarian/evolutionary theories
Brown details several evolutionary theories of the origins of comets.
Oort cloud
: Main article: Oort Cloud
Most conventional astronomers invoke the nebula theory and state that comets are debris that failed to accrete into the planets and moons when the solar system formed. The classic Oort Cloud theory states that the Oort cloud, a sphere measuring about 50,000 AU in radius, formed at the same time as the solar nebula and occasionally releases comets into the inner solar system as a star passes closely enough for its gravity to perturb the Oort Cloud. Jewitt and others have proposed instead that comets initially formed near or immediately beyond the gas giant planets. Some of these objects persist as Kuiper belt objects. Others passed close enough to the gas giants to gain sufficient energy to launch them into high orbits, where they eventually formed the Oort cloud and, some suggest, continue to resupply it.

Interstellar capture
According to this theory, the sun passes through and perturbs clouds of interstellar dust and gas. In the process it captures large numbers of particles, which accrete into comets.

Meteor stream
Comets form continuously from a stream of meteors in various orbits around the Sun.

Volcanism
Comets are volcanic ejecta, from either the various gas giants or some of their moons.

Exploded planet
A planet originally in the region now occupied by the main asteroid belt exploded about 3,200,000 years ago. The presently observed comets and asteroids are its remnants.

Organic matter
: Main article: Panspermia
Many comets contain organic compounds, including methane and ethane. This has led some scientists to speculate that comets brought to earth the initial "seeds" of life.

Problems for uniformitarian theories
Many comets have life spans less than 10,000 years. According to the nebula theory, comets formed with the rest of the solar system, 4.6 billion years ago. Adherents of the interstellar capture theory try to connect the origin of cometary matter with the Big Bang, which, they say, happened about 13.7 billion years ago. But in that case, all the short-period comets ought to have disappeared. This is especially true of the Jupiter family. Even if the Kuiper belt is the source of short-period comets, such comets would have to lose much kinetic energy in order to settle into the short-aphelion orbits of Jupiter's family. This begs the question of how and where they lost this energy.

Brown lists many other problems for various uniformitarian theories posed by comets:

# Comets form by accretion of water ice and other materials. This explains why comets usually have the consistency of snowballs and not of hard blocks of ice. Accretion from a solar nebula has never been satisfactorily modeled. Accretion requires the sudden release of a stream of matter beyond the sphere of gravitational influence of another body, and into a region in which the matter can form its own, rapidly growing sphere of influence. The putative conditions of the solar nebula do not meet this requirement.
# Large quantities of water ice have been observed on the poles of the moon, the planet Mercury, and now, most recently, on Mars. Why this ice has not evaporated, particularly from the moon and Mercury, where atmospheric pressures are negligible, has never been explained.
# Crystalline dust might form from an exploded planet, but it would not be likely to form in any of the other proposed models.
# If comets formed in the region of the putative Oort cloud, they would not attain near-parabolic orbits.
# The original Oort cloud model and the interstellar capture model would tend to produce perihelia with predictable alignments. The perihelia of comets are almost completely random.
# Either of the Oort cloud models would be expected to produce comets with hyperbolic orbits. No such cometary orbit has ever been observed.
# The observed perihelia, varying from 1 to 3 AU, are incompatible with any origin of comets beyond 3 au. Therefore, comets would have to form in the main asteroid belt or closer to the sun.
# The Oort cloud, if it exists, cannot be the source of short-period comets. But Gerard P. Kuiper formed the hypothesis of the belt of objects that bears his name to explain this discrepancy.
# Jupiter's family of comets cannot have come from a planetary explosion at 3 au from the sun, or from any other source described above other than volcanic ejection from Jupiter.
# If comets formed in the gas giant region and were later launched into the Oort cloud, many of the comets now observed would have destroyed one another long ago.
# The current composition of comets cannot have resulted from volcanic ejection from a gas giant.
# The unusual proportion of deuterium in comets, and only in comets, makes their origin from either the solar nebula or an interstellar dust cloud very problematic. The preferential concentration of deuterium is the most difficult observation to explain.
# The small comets recently observed striking the earth should not be observed if comets originated beyond 3 AU.
# The observed meteor craters are mostly superficial and thus inconsistent with a formation of comets within the inner solar system millions or billions of years ago. This militates against the exploded-planet and revised Oort cloud models.

For further details, see Brown's table of various comet-origin theories and how well (or poorly) they explain the evidence.

Creation theory
: Main article: Hydroplate theory
Brown proposes a radically different theory for the origin of comets: that they originated from matter ejected into space during the global flood. According to his hydroplate theory, the Flood waters broke through a crustal rupture that persists today as the Mid-Oceanic Ridge system. This water was extremely hot and under tremendous pressure. Brown estimates that less than one percent was ejected into space. In the process, the edges of the crust at the rupture crumbled, and much of their material was ejected with the water.

The ejecta easily reached escape speed and soon passed beyond earth's gravitational influence. Some of the rocks abruptly formed spheres of influence of their own and attracted the surrounding water through gravitational accretion. Brown calculates that the ejecta included enough mass for 50,000 comets, far more than have thus far been observed.

Much of the water fell onto the moon and the planets Mercury and Mars, where it condensed and froze in the polar regions. The hydroplate theory also states that many of the rocks fell to the moon and thus created the craters and maria observed today.

Many of the comets were ejected into hyperbolic orbits, never to return to the inner solar system. Others were launched into near-parabolic orbits, either immediately or under the influence of the gas giants.

The high concentrations of deuterium reflect the initial composition of the subcrustal oceans. The organic matter came from earth and was never introduced to earth by the comets.

Problems for the hydroplate theory
The hydroplate theory has two known problems:

# Near-parabolic comets often have very long periods. Their launch in an event occurring 4400 years ago is difficult to explain, unless they received a gravitational boost from Jupiter or some other gas giant.
# Humphreys followed up on his model for the creation of planetary magnetic fields and calculated that the moon suffered two bombardments, neither of which were in time frames compatible with the global flood. According to Humphreys, the maria formed three centuries after the fall of man, and the visible craters formed about a century or so after the flood. If most of the comets, asteroids, and meteoroids now observed were flood ejecta, then they could have subjected the moon (and other moons in the solar system) to a heavy bombardment a century later and formed the craters. But they could not have formed the maria.

These problems, however, are distinctly minor in comparison to the great number of critical difficulties for uniformitarian theories.

Chaldean has both a historical and a modern meaning.

History
Chaldean is a Hellenistic term for the Ancient Babylonians.

The Chaldeans seized the Assyrian capital, Nineveh, in 612 B.C., and destroyed it. They soon conquered all of Mesopotamia and Syria. In 586 B.C. they conquered Judah and scattered the Jewish nation. This began the period of Jewish history known as the exile. Although the Chaldeans only remained in power for fifty years, they were responsible for founding what is known as the Neo-Babylonian empire. Elaborate and beautiful palaces and buildings were constructed by the Chaldeans. The famous Hanging Gardens of Babylon were made during the Chaldean rule.

The Chaldeans’ short reign is chronicled in the Biblical story of Daniel. As a teenager, Daniel was captured by the Chaldean army during its first attack on Jerusalem. While Daniel served under Nebuchadnezzar II, one of only a few Chaldean kings, he interpreted dreams, witnessed the miraculous survival of Shadrach, Meschach and Aben-nego in the fiery furnace, and accurately predicted Nebuchadnezzar’s descent into madness before reclaiming his throne. Under the rule of Nebuchadnezzar’s son, Belshazzar, Daniel witnessed the writing on the wall, which he interpreted for Belshazzar as a sign of Belshazzar’s imminent downfall. The very next day, the Persians invaded, killed Belshazzar, and took over the Babylonian empire.

Modern Usage
Chaldeans are an Eastern Rite Catholic minority originating in the Middle East. Most speak a language called "Chaldean", or "Syriac", which is a branch of Aramaic. Chaldeans usually speak the dominant language of their country as well (usually Arabic). They are closely related to modern Assyrians. Many Chaldeans have immigrated to the U.S. from Iraq due to anti-Christian persecution since the 2003 invasion. Since the Coalition Forces invasion of Iraq, it has been very difficult for Chaldeans to immigrate to the U.S. any longer. Those fleeing persecution have been forced to go to Syria and Jordan. Saddam Hussein's former deputy president, Tariq Aziz, was a Chaldean Christian. There are large Chaldean communities in Los Angeles and Detroit.
If memory serves, the Bible mentions and condemns this practice 4 separate times and it does so in a non-salacious manner. For thousands of years the Bible has been taught to children with very beneficial effects. Conservapedia also condemns this practice and points out it being mentioned inapropriately by members of the immoral worldviews of atheism/evolutionism which denies the existence of God despite the abundant evidence for God's existence and Conservapedia's article does so in a non-salacious manner. The atheistic worldview has a history of mass murder (see: Atheism and mass murder and Abortion and atheism ). Question: Did Moses and God make a mistake by mentioning this practice in the Bible 4 separate times? If so, why? Also, the real issue is that the articles are further pointing out the immorality within atheism/evolutionism and Wikipedia and you don't like it, isn't it? If not, why not? Well, tough. For what it's worth, I do think there is something of an omission in all these articles, which is any examples of atheists who have actually committed bestiality. It's mostly about them not condemning it, which is unbiblical, but which I think is just as likely to stem from naivety (not having thought a great deal about what the practice actually entails) as from depravity.
::I can't find any examples. To be honest I wouldn't expect many people, atheists or otherwise, to go around condemning bestiality all the time. Constant condemnation of a pretty rare practice seems to imply that you're thinking about it to a degree that's not... entirely normal. Anyway I've lived in the UK for 40 years and the only time bestiality ever gets mentioned is when people make jokes about the Welsh, so it would be fair to say it's not a big social issue here. --ThomasMacD 11:18, 28 September 2011 (EDT)
As the author of this entry is quite fond of touting how prominently their articles show up in search results... one has to ask: why is User:Conservative purposely trying to undermine his/her own efforts? And by extension, Conservapedia as a whole? I am sure that the author of this very encyclopedic entry is well aware that most God fearing people enable the "Safe Search" feature so as not to be assaulted with any vile anti-Christian filth. Well guess what chief? With safe search on, the most popular search engine in the world filters out all pages containing the word bestiality. So go right on adding that word to your feverish heart's content. But keep in mind that every page you pepper with your current favorite word, is another page that disappears from millions of search results. ==Psst! I got a secret for you...==

You're welcome. --SteveK 22:51, 27 September 2011 (EDT)
::Who said I created this article to get web traffic? Second, are search engines the only way to get web traffic? I have found that cognitive flexibility and logical thinking are not strengths of many atheists. :) Conservative 05:39, 28 September 2011 (EDT)

For what it's worth
For what it's worth, I do think there is something of an omission in all these articles, which is any examples of atheists who have actually committed bestiality. It's mostly about them not condemning it, which is unbiblical, but which I think is just as likely to stem from naivety (not having thought a great deal about what the practice actually entails) as from depravity.

Can anyone suggest any prominent atheists who commit bestiality as well as condoning it?--CPalmer 11:01, 28 September 2011 (EDT)

:Another thought: of course it's relevant to cite the Bible, but fully half of the verses that mention it (two) recommend the death penalty for bestialters. Should this be mentioned? Do any countries currently execute for this crime?--CPalmer 11:15, 28 September 2011 (EDT)

::::re: CPalmner's above comments: If someone wants to do research on the atheist Marquis de Sade and the Oxford nihilist A.C Swindburne that would be fine. Here is what I found: http://www.victorianweb.org/authors/swinburne/acsbio1.html Conservative 13:20, 28 September 2011 (EDT)
:::Also, I seem to recall that Conservapedia has a list of atheist killers/serial killers and my guess is that some of them may have engaged in this act. Again, this would require more research. Conservative 13:33, 28 September 2011 (EDT)
::::That link says nothing about de Sade practicing bestiality and only says that Swindburne circulated a story about it; it also points out that he frequently spread untrue stories about himself.

ThomasMacD: Historical accuracy: Dawson refused to allow scientists to examine the fossils after early doubts were raised.

Piltdown Man was a notorious hoax perpetrated early in 20th century Great Britain, in which a medieval human skull was combined with the lower jaw of an orangutan and subsequently "found" in a gravel pit in the near the village of Piltdown, England. Hailed as the "missing link" between man and ape-like species by promoters of evolution for decades, Piltdown man was exposed as a fraud only through later scientific testing and simple observation. The refusal of the discoverer to allow independent scrutiny of his claims enabled this fraud to persist for over forty years.

Critics of evolution believe that the Piltdown man was not an isolated incident of bad judgment by evolutionists and that the examples of the Nebraska Man, Java Man, Ocre Man, Neanderthals, and Flores Man can be cited. Rather than admit the defects in their methods that facilitate hoaxes, many evolutionists simply rewrote their alleged tree of ancestors without the Piltdown man in it (a clear case of evolutionist denial).

History
In February 1912 Arthur Smith Woodward of the British Museum received a letter from a Sussex lawyer named Charles Dawson about a discovery he had made while excavating a gravel pit. What Dawson had described were fragments of a skull cap belonging to an ancient human; the skull was found in 1908 in the Piltdown region; other fragments were recovered in 1911, along with animal bones. Excitement over the findings resulted in a more comprehensive excavation in June, 1912, allowing the recovery of more skull fragments, part of the mandible, additional animal bones and stone tools.

Shortly afterward, Piltdown Man was declared the most important fossil find in Europe. The New York Times declared it to be the true missing link; a headline from that paper would read “Darwin Theory Is Proved True.” A leading British scientific journal chimed in:
:The fossil human skull and mandible to be described by Mr. Charles Dawson and Dr. Arthur Smith Woodward at the Geological Society as we go to press is the most important discovery of its kind hitherto made in England. The specimen was found in circumstances which seem to leave no doubt of its geological age, and the characters it shows are themselves sufficient to denote its extreme antiquity.

Its "extreme antiquity" was thought to have been between 400,000-500,000 years ago, based on the animal teeth found with the remains. The result of their deductions wasn't just scientific excitement; it was national pride. Germany had Heidelberg Man, the Dutch East Indies had Java Man; in the announcing of Piltdown Man, the British Isles could lay claim to the first Englishman. In gratitude to its discoverer, evolutionary scientists give it a formal name: Eoanthropus dawsoni - "Dawson's dawn man".

Questions begin
Doubts about the veracity of the Piltdown man remains began almost immediately. In contrast to the British, French and American scientists were more reserved, despite fragments of a second Piltdown man announced in 1917 which convinced many more of the fossil's authenticity. Dawson's death the previous year was an additional aid to Piltdown. But placing the fragments together in the shape of a skull created more problems than it solved. The upper portion was not just lacking the brow ridges they thought should be there, as in the Neanderthal; it was very-much modern human. The surviving portion of the mandible was missing its chin and the condyle - the portion of the jaw which directly attaches to the skull. It was further pointed out that the large size of the bone and two molars was too similar to that of an ape. Placing it with evolutionary lines was difficult, and as new discoveries were made in the next few decades, it became harder for evolutionary scientists to place Piltdown man anywhere on the family tree; most would just leave it out.

In 1922 evolutionist William King Gregory stated in a highly technical book that he published doubts, shared by colleagues, in 1914 about whether the jaw and teeth were associated with the braincase. Gregory stated in the article that someone at the British Museum had confided to him that "a negro skull and a broken ape jaw" had been "artificially fossilized" and "planted in the gravel bed to fool the scientists." However, a book published at the same time and aimed at the popular market was depicting elaborate speculation about the daily life of Piltdown Man, giving him the tools that were found in the gravel bed. Yet despite the early criticism, Piltdown Man continued to be taught children in school, such as in the textbook A Civic Biology, at issue in the Scopes trial of 1927. Dr. Woodward for his part believed in its authenticity so strongly that when he retired he purchased a home near the gravel pit and spent the remainder of his summers excavating.

Finding of fraud
The date first assigned to the bones was never based on the bones at all, but rather were based on testing of older material found nearby. This is partially due to the fact that modern dating techniques, like the Fluorine Absorption test, were not yet invented (and indeed, when they were, proved essential to Piltdown man's downfall). Like similar artifacts purporting to prove evolution today, there was no independent or public scrutiny of the actual materials.

In 1950 British scientists Joseph S. Weiner, Wilfrid E. Le Gros Clark, Kenneth P. Oakley, and others had carried out the fluorine method of dating on the remains, testing for fluorine, nitrogen, and uranium. As controls, they used a mammoth molar found at the site and fresh bone from a recently-slaughtered cow.
The results had shown the Piltdown bones were not only considerably younger geologically than the Lower and Middle Pleistocene fossils said to have been found at the same site, but in fact they were less than 500 years old. The cranium came from a man who died in the Medieval period, while the jaw fragment came from an orangutan (Pongo abelii) less than 200 hundred years old; this ape was determined to have died at the age of ten. Only then did evolutionists admit that they had been teaching a fraud.
Could someone add the passages of the Scripture regarding bestiality (Leviticus 18: v 23, Leviticus 20: v 15 and Deuteronomy 27: v 21)please?
I would also suggest an historic part about bestiality in Europe (for instance the story of Leda and the swan in ancient Greek mythology) and how the rise of christianity helped to rid Europe and the world of bestiality. Or would that be a stand-alone article? À Dieu --VPropp 14:53, 27 September 2011 (EDT)
Added Bible versus. Second, please create a section/article here User: VProppand/atheism-bestiality-Europe and focus on how/why Christianity helped greatly reduce bestiality in Europe and then I can add it. Also, if there is somewhat of a resurgence in bestiality in a Europe that is less Christianized and you can document it in a non-salacious way, then do that too.

Conservatives point to the disruption of family life, the promotion of single motherhood, the lack of discipline in schools and the ‘rights culture’.
The redshift of a given object is a measure of the amount that the wavelength of its emitted or reflected electromagnetic radiation has increased. This increase in wavelength is due to the relative motion of a source with respect to an observer; a light emitting source moving away from an observer will have its spectrum shifted toward longer (in optical light, redder) wavelengths. In practice this is analogous to the Doppler shifting of sound waves emitted from a moving source. Light emitted from a source moving towards an observer will experience a blueshift. In the case of redshift, however, most of the redshift is believed to be due not to the object moving through space, but to the expansion of space itself.
The Hubble redshift in absorption and emission lines in the spectra of distant cosmic objects, discovered by Edwin Hubble in 1929, is claimed as a source of evidence for the Big Bang theory.<ref>Edwin Hubble (1929). It also suggests that the universe is undergoing accelerating expansion for an unknown reason.
