In my opinion, I think that Senator Manchin should be Conservative of the Year. Although he is clearly not entirely a conservative, he has been instrumental in sinking some of the far-left's policy proposals, such as the Green New Deal and the Build Back Better bill as well as opposing the nomination of Neera Tanden as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. His opposition to these policy proposals drew significant backlash from the far-left. I think Governor-Elect Youngkin should be runner-up because he was elected Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia in what was considered to be a massive rebuke of President Biden and his policies.
