Changed the estimated size of the Rally, as the 50k to 100k numbers were not cited and I various estimates put the numbers between 200k to 250k. I hope we can be fair and balanced about this, since clearly the Rally filled the whole mall. Based upon "conservative" estimates of Becks Rally, the Honor Rally had possibly over a million people. Since the photos from this rally very much rival becks rally of possible 500k to a million (of courting to some conservative(I use conservative naturally meaning right side of the political spectrum, and not meaning low ball numbers of course) argue Beck had over a million people attend), then by all means the Stewert/Colbert Rally must have had similar numbers. This of course means that if we assume that Glenn Beck's Rally had over a million, it is possible that the Restoring Sanity/Keep fear alive rally had over a million. So my numbers might be conservative(in this case meaning low ball numbers).

Rally to Restore Sanity is another attempt by liberals to counter the influence of Glenn Beck and the Tea Party Movement. The rally took place October 30th in Washington D.C., is organized by liberal comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. The rally name is similar to Glenn Beck's highly successful Restoring Honor event. While Beck's rally was a serious gathering of citizens that are concerned about our country, the Stewart rally is to mock Americans who support conservatism, to joke, laugh and have good times just days before the Democrats power and influence gets crushed at the polls on November 2nd. Many of the left's supporters of the socialist One Nation rally planned to attend. Estimates have the crowd from 200,000 to 250,000 , the television audience of the comedians and not as much a union presence. Domestic terrorist Bill Ayers endorses the rally. Barack Hussein Obama has endorsed the rally, yet refused to attend. Indeed, almost no major candidate for office was willing to attend.

Sanity?
Leftwing socialist advocates to put their support behind the rally, such as MoveOn.org. Billed as a non-political rally, immediately following the event, a political MoveOn.org 'Sanity' phone bank was established to get out the vote. One of those groups attending was Students For Sensible Drug Policy. The group pushes the legalization of marijuana. Liberalism and sanity are opposites as there is nothing sane about promoting the use of drugs. Another discredited liberal group attended was PETA. The Huffington Post returned with transportation for 10,000 plus diva Oprah Winfrey donated to the cause by paying Stewart's expenses. Government workers marched at the rally. In defense of their coworkers, government workers and their friends and family were encouraged to join up and march together for the "Government Doesn't Suck March."

Per the Rally To Restore Sanity website,

Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally, also known as the Restoring Honor Rally 8-28, is a non-political rally held at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s 1963 "I Have A Dream" speech. According to Glenn Beck's Web site, Restoring Honor is a "non-political event" conceived to pay tribute to the United States "heroes, our heritage and our future," and to "pledge to restore honor" in America at the steps of the memorial. The Restoring Honor Rally is a fundraiser for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a charity that provides funds for the surviving children of Special Ops personnel killed in battle. He said:

Glenn Beck has stated that education is key to restoring honor, and not just for our children, but for all America as a whole. He further detailed what it means to "restore honor," and said that despite America's great diversity, "nothing unifies Americans more than their support for public acknowledgments of God." Beck said to consider the following aspects of American heritage that he honors and respects:
According to Glenn Beck's Web site, the following text is a verbatim description of the Restoring Honor Rally:

<blockquote>
Throughout history America has seen many great leaders and noteworthy citizens change her course. It is through their personal virtues and by their example that we are able to live as a free people. On August 28, come celebrate America by honoring our heroes, our heritage and our future.

Join the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and many more for this non-political event that pays tribute to America’s service personnel and other upstanding citizens who embody our nation’s founding principles of integrity, truth and honor.

Our freedom is possible only if we remain virtuous. Help us restore the values that founded this great nation. On August, 28th, come join us in our pledge to restore honor at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.
</blockquote>

Attacks Against Restoring Honor
Among the individuals upset over Restoring Honor in America, Reverend Al Sharpton accused Glenn Beck of trying to "hijack" the Civil Rights Movement by hosting the "Restoring Honor" rally at the Lincoln Memorial. The Washington Post reported that Al Sharpton planned to host a rally to commemorate King's speech. ABC's story was out of context so bad that it made Glenn Beck appear like a racist hate monger. Claire Shipman's deceitful, propaganda-ish style reporting on ABC News went so far as to assert that there are angry voices "comparing the Tea Party to the KKK," despite the fact that these are two different events in American history, each with completely opposite agendas - both politically and in merit. Glenn Beck exposed ABC News for their deceitful practices.

Other liberal groups claimed that the date to hold the Restoring Honor Rally on 8/28 was "insulting" to King's legacy, although Glenn Beck stated that it was "divine providence" which led to the date of a Restoring Honor Rally. In spite of not knowing the true intentions of the rally or what message Restoring Honor is sending to the American people, liberal pundits in the media responded to Beck's "divine providence" by saying, then, that God has a "very dark sense of humor."

Ironically, since Dr. King preached about Social Justice, it is very likely Beck would have labeled him a socialist, or worse a communist. <

: Reporters Without Borders joined others in asking how Google could stand up for US users' freedoms while controlling what Chinese users can search for. Its previous search engine for China's fast-growing market was subject to government blocks. The new site - Google.cn - censors itself to satisfy Beijing. While cooperating with China's govenment, Google refuses to fulfill requests by the U.S. Department of Justice. Google counsel Nicole Wong said "..we intend to resist their motion vigorously."

Google has also been accused of delisting conservative news sites from its search engine. As one of many examples, "In February 2005, Michelle Malkin wrote of the difficulties she was having becoming part of Google News."

Much of Google's business depends on pornography. For example, 25% of search engine requests are for pornography.

In addition, although claiming to generally avoid getting involved in matters outside their field, Google officially supports the liberal and social libertarian cause of so-called "same sex marriage." On June 21, 2009, Google displayed a special multicolored line for searches on the word "gay". More troubling, Google recently announced plans to compensate employees to cover taxes paid on their domestic partner's health benefits, but only offers its 'generosity' to gay couples. . Google is also big promoter of Charles Darwin and atheistic science, even to the point of giving special recognition to the anniversary of Darwin's birthday ("Darwin Day").

Major competitors of Google include Yahoo! and Microsoft's Bing.

Corporate Information
The CEO of Google since 2001 is Eric Schmidt. Google is headquartered in Mountain View, California. Google was founded on September 7th, 1998, by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Since then, it has grown to be the largest internet search engine in the world. According to Alexa Internet, over 25% of all Internet users visit Google monthly.

Google also owns YouTube, the homemade video clip site. Viacom is suing YouTube, and thus Google, for a reported $1 billion, arguing that the economic model of YouTube is based on copyright infringement.

After much debate about their corporate Code of Conduct, Google's founders settled on the all-encompassing "Don't be evil", saying,"It's built around the recognition that everything we do in connection with our work at Google will be, and should be, measured against the highest possible standards". This Code of Conduct has generated much criticism, saying they have missed that mark badly.

History
Founding
Google was originally a research project, started by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1996, when the two attended Stanford University. The two registered the domain name google.stanford.edu, and the small search engine went online for the first time.

Growth
The year Google was created 1998, it had amassed 26 million unique URLs in their database. By 2000, Google had indexed more than 1 billion pages. As of July 2008, Google has indexed over 1 trillion pages.

Competition
Microsoft has been aggressively competing with Google for a larger share of the search market. Their latest effort, Bing.com, is a "next generation" search service which has generated positive reviews.

Secular Progressive Culture
Google's West Coast headquarters hires a majority of left-leaning personalities, explicitly in executive decision-making. Google supports causes that are a radical departure from traditional American views, such as their public support of a 'no' vote for California's Proposition 8, which defined marriage as being between a husband and wife. Also in a subtle way, they favor politically-correct global liberalism, championed by secular progressives. They select certain days of importance for tribute, some of which are controversial.<!-- commenting out the following as it's not clear what it means: some are for lack of observance.--> As such, Merry Christmas is replaced by Happy Holidays. Even though, poll after poll after poll shows the public prefers 'Merry Christmas'. The problem may be that Google doesn't respect traditional Christian holidays, in favor of a 'culturally-correct' approach. In addition, Google accepts the Theory of Evolution by Charles Darwin as fact, promotes Darwin on their homepage with a Google Doodle logo.

Google often honors Russia with their logo of Sputnik and for composer Igor Stravinsky. However, they did not honor United States Flag Day, June 14. (Their competitor Bing prominently displayed Old Glory.)

Google versus Conservatives
Many instances whereby information is comprised ideologically and displayed for the masses. Watchdog website NewsBusters.org published that Google had in fact labeled conservative American Spectator as "This site may harm your computer."

Google continues to block pro-family website MassResistance. Some people complain his organization promotes hatred towards homosexuals. Google gives the standard legal trash as an excuse "'Users may not publish material that promotes hate towards groups based on race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity.'" MassResistance replies "Of course we are not promoting hate against anybody."

YouTube owner, Google continues to protect Planned Parenthood by removing undercover videos exposing abortion clinic law-breaking.

Without any prior explanation or notice, Google had been terminating its News relationships with conservative e-zines and web journals.

Google versus Anti- Obama Blogs
The question immediately raised, "Did Google Silence Barack Obama critics?" It turns out, no they did not. A group of separate blogs were targeted by their spam filter as a result of manipulating the 'flag' feature. This caused a temporary blockage for five days. Sites affected were Hillary supporters and all anti-Obama. They include http://bluelyon.blogspot.com, http://comealongway.blogspot.com, http://hillaryorbust.blogspot.com and http://mccaindemocrats.blogspot.com and their main associate JustSayNoDeal.com

Google bombing
Perhaps the most innovative contribution Google has made to internet searching is its PageRank algorithm. This system works by counting the number of sites that link to another site; the more links pointing to a page, the higher that page will be ranked. The engine also takes note of how often the page is updated. Due to this, Wikipedia is consistently ranked very highly by Google, due to its constant updating and heavy linkage. More recently, internet-savvy Googlers have discovered ways to game the system; creating massive numbers of pages with links pointing to one page to form what is known as a "Google Bomb". Some examples can be found below.

*"Miserable Failure": For nearly two years, typing "miserable failure" (or even just "miserable", or "failure") and then clicking "I'm Feeling Lucky" in the Google search engine would return the White House Biography of George W. Bush. This was orchestrated by Democratic Party supporters in late 2003, as part of the 2004 Presidential election. However, at times, Conservative supporters were able to shift the phrase to Jimmy Carter, Hillary Clinton and Michael Moore.
*"Great President": returns the White House Biography of George W. Bush.
*"Waffles": Also as part of the 2004 Presidential election, Conservative supporters managed to link the term "waffles" to the official website of John Kerry.
*"French Military Victories": Hitting "I'm Feeling Lucky" for this term directs you to a fake Google page (in reality, it is an AlbinoBlackSheep.com page, styled to look exactly like a Google page, here) giving no matches, and asking if you meant "French military defeats?".
*"Weapons of Mass Destruction" would bring up a similar page with the error message 'not found.'

On January 25, 2007, Google claimed to have modified their PageRank algorithm to lessen the likelihood of future Google bombs

Controversy
Privacy Concerns
Google has been criticized by privacy activists and others. Recently, Google chief executive Eric Schmidt said, "We cannot even answer the most basic questions because we don’t know enough about you. That is the most important aspect of Google’s expansion." Google has attempted to "remedy" this situation by storing search information, in effect, keeping tabs on people for two years after they search. This has led Google critic Daniel Brandt to create "Scroogle.org", which runs Google searches that users conduct through his organization's personal servers to prevent Google from being able to connect any personal information to the searchers.

Hypocrisy on Net neutrality
Neil Stevens of Redstate.com notes that Google says one thing and does another, tarnishing their reputation in the process. He lists where Google emphasizes support then does what they want in regards to shutting down access.

The 2012 United States Presidential Election when America is scheduled to pick a new president will take place on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. It will occur at the same time as elections to all seats in the House of Representatives and to one-third of seats in the Senate. Incumbent Democratic president Barack Obama is presumed to be seeking re-election in this election, although liberal President Lyndon Johnson did voluntarily decline to run for reelection after his poor showing the New Hampshire primary in 1968. A Republican candidate is expected to be elected(source?).

As yet, no Republicans or Democratic challengers have declared their candidacy. The current GOP front-runners, however, are former governors Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, Governors Bobby Jindal and Tim Pawlenty, and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. With Obama's declining popularity among independents, liberals, and moderates, Hillary Clinton's public approval ratings have gained.

Beginning in January 2011, candidates will signal publicly their intentions to run. Mitt Romney, for example, filed papers with the Federal Election Commission on Jan. 3, 2007, in order to seek election as president in 2008. His early commitment is credited for his ability to far out-raise the other candidates, and to earn endorsements from conservatives such as Rick Santorum and Marsha Blackburn. Of course, intentions to run are communicated privately much earlier than the public filings, so many will be lining up support and potential endorsements throughout 2010 for the 2012 presidential election.

The key early primaries are Iowa (caucuses), New Hampshire, Michigan and South Carolina.

Four Segments of the Republican Party
There are four basic components of the Republican Party. To win the nomination, a candidate needs to obtain the support of at least two out of four:

#social conservatives (pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-Republican Party platform)
#libertarians (lower taxes, less government, pro-business, anti-union)
#religious voters (Baptists, Presbyterians, Catholics, evangelicals, Mormons)
#neoconservatives (foreign intervention, "better" government)

In 2008, John McCain won the nomination by capturing the support of 1 and 4 above. Ron Paul had the support of 2. Mitt Romney enjoyed support by 2 and part of 3. Mike Huckabee had support of 1 and part of 3. The division of 3 by Romney and Huckabee caused them to block either other: Huckabee blocked Romney in Iowa, and Romney returned the favor in New Hampshire. This dynamic prevented either from winning the nomination.

In 2000, George Bush won with the support of 1 and 3. But John McCain enjoyed the support from 2 and 4 and this enabled him to win the New Hampshire and Michigan primaries, giving Bush a close contest. Some felt McCain mishandled his victory in Michigan.

In 1980, Ronald Reagan had the support of 1 and 2.

Sorge:

The 2012 United States Presidential Election when America is scheduled to pick a new president will take place on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. It will occur at the same time as elections to all seats in the House of Representatives and to one-third of seats in the Senate. Incumbent Democratic president Barack Obama is presumed to be seeking re-election in this election, although liberal President Lyndon Johnson did voluntarily decline to run for reelection after his poor showing the New Hampshire primary in 1968. A Republican candidate may be elected; but with over two years until an the election it is impossible to pick a favorite.
