The Cuban Revolution was the movement that brought Communist Fidel Castro into power by taking down the rule of dictator Batista. It was fought for two years in the hills of Cuba with the help of a broad coalition and the Cuban people.

It was only after Fidel got to power when he declared himself a Communist and unveiled his plan for a Soviet-like state for Cuba. Many of his former followers had to flee to Miami and organize there a resistance against the newly Marxist dictatorship.

Among the most famous people who fought this revolution is Argentinean doctor and adventurer [[Che Guevara]].

This article is quite short and very uniformative. It neglects many major events in Mexican history and implies that the government is anti-Christian. This is a disgrace.

Coming from Mexico, I know that the Mexican government was anti-Christian. The liberal government of Mexico has been anti-Christian since the middle of the 19th century. After all, THEY STOLE THE LAND OF THE PARISHES AND ABOLISHED CONVENTS AND MONASTARIES. Many "public" buildings in Mexico were originally Church property.

Right now the Swedish politicians are discussing if foreign womens should be allowed to have an (late) abortion in Sweden, and much suggests that the parliament will vote in favour for that proposition. There is, however, a few signs of light. a few years ago a Swedish baptist priest åke green was found ''not'' guilty of hate speech when preaching the bibles words on homosexuality. and strange enough the struggle for religious freedom by some radical [[Muslim]] groups has lead to an awakening in the Christian society..still, all Christians should pray for a revival in this country.

Swedes are paying 65% in taxes (in average), a great part of this money goes to contributions to unemployed people (17% of the swedish population are unemployed). In Sweden, everyone has rights to have a home, food, clothes, water. Swedes to also have rights to nursing, all schools (even the universitys) are free and Sweden is also a country with a very big immigration - much bigger than, for example, Norway, Denmarc and Finland.

Krister Renard, a swedish author and schoolteacher, describes Sweden as a "totalitarian democracy". Sweden has fair elections, however, most of the population have been taught in the state-administered schools that socialism is a superior economic system. One wonders how informed and discerning the average swedish citizen is when it comes to voting for candidates and their economic and social policies.
Approximately 80% of the population between the ages of 18 and 65 are members in a trade union. If the government were to try to reduce unemployment and other welfare benefits, trade unions would possibly strike perhaps triggering an economic meltdown far beyond that of an ordinary recession.

A "totalitarian democracy" may be a good way to describe Sweden.

Chile gained its independence from Spain in 1810 (1ra. JUNTA NACIONAL DE GOBIERNO).

From 1970 to 1973, Chile's leader was [[Salvador Allende]], a democratically-elected communist. In 1973, General Augusto Pinochet Ugarte, better known as [[General Pinochet]], gained power in a military coup, during which Allende committed suicide. Pinochet instituted free market reforms and opposed communism, but also directed [[the Operation Condor]], a reprisal against political opponents during which thousands of Chileans disappeared, have been tortured and killed. Moreover he restricted freedom of press, of expression, etc., by the establishment of a despotic and militarian power.

After Pinochet's ouster in 1990, after he lost a plebecite election on his continuing status as president, Chile has attempted to try him for war crimes committed under his regime, but trails were postponed due to his age. Pinochet died in 2006, due to heart failure.

Chile's current president, Michelle Bachellet, is the first woman president of the country. She is also a member of the Chilean Socialist party.

Miguel Hidalgo

Fr.Miguel Hidalgo lived from May 8, 1753 to July 31, 1811. He was a [[Catholic]] priest who is called the 'Father of Mexican independence'.

Although a Catholic priest, he disobeyed the many orders that the religious order had given him to desist on his war against the legitimate government. In September 1810 he conspired with a few French to overthrow the Spanish government in Mexico. His plans were discovered by the Spanish so he had to rush his plans, so he did not have enough time to prepare his revolution well. On [[September 16]], which is nowadays a holiday in Mexico, he gathered the people of his village of [[Dolores]] at his church and told them to start a revolt and start killing the Spanish. He also gathered a mob to march towards [[Mexico City]].

In Guanajuato, his mob pillaged and raped women, even when Hidalgo had promised them not to do it. The mob didn't listen to him. He defeated the Spanish another time at [[Monte de las Cruces]] close to Mexico City, but he decided not to attack the capital. Instead he returned to [[Guadalajara]] where he had himself worshipped as a God-king and killed many Spanish civilians.

Later he marched to the north in order to get help from the [[United States]], but he was defeated and taken prisoner by the Spanish. He was shot in the city of [[Chihuahua]].

Bay of Pigs is the name of the failed liberation landing on Cuba in 1961. A group of Cuban patriots landed in Bay of Pigs in the island of Cuba to liberate the nation from Castro. The idea was to repeat the same landing that Castro did in the past.

After the coup, Pinochet saw support from America, who when they saw democracy re-established in Chile, they eagerly helped as much as they could.

Pinochet moved Chile into a market economy, privatizing many inefficient government businesses, and opening the country to foreign investment. The stability that his government gave encouraged foreign investors to come to Chile. He also started one of the first [[private pension accounts]] pension systems in the world, which has been highly successful.

Communist critics said that he was a dictator. Although at the beginning this was true, his long government later on was the result of his popularity. He would let referendums on his staying in power to happen once in a while, and every time they would back his rule, until the last time, in 1988, when he finally lost. A true dictator would have kept power, but he gracefully stepped down to take his place as life-long senator, a role that the Chilean constitution grants to its ex-presidents.

Is a citation ''from'' Fox News saying that Fox News is fair and balanced really a good idea?
I would think that it would be more appropriately said as "Fox News claims to be fair and balanced," or something along those lines.

*I disagree. One of the ways Fox News attempts to be fair and balanced is by inviting guests from both sides of the issue. Personally I would prefer to only hear from conservatives, but Fox News has both sides. I think the link for the first reference needs to be changed. It is used as a citation for Fox News saying it is Fair and Balanced, but the link only goes to a page with employment opportunities.

I have nothing personal against Muslims except that they should convert to Christianity. I have been doing research on both Fox and CNN, and I have seen many occasions where both networks would be "reporting" the same event and yet both reports are completely different. After watching hours of both networks, and analyzing word usage, stories covered, and opinion pieces, I have come to the conclusion IMHO that both networks are hard at work spoon feeding America news that has been interpreted, digested, and analyzed for us. Both networks are telling us what to think about everything, the only difference is which way their messages lean. It would be nice for the news people to just give me the news without all the crap attached and let us make up our own minds. I'm not sure about the rest of the country, but I am still capable of making my own decisions about what I see.
