Why isn't this mentioned?
She specifically said that "John Quincy Adams would not rest until slavery was extinguished in the country." To be fair, John Quincy Adams was strongly on the side of the abolitionists, but he had nothing to do with the eradication of slavery. This is something people should know about someone who could become our next president. Esmith543

:We must rush to put misspoken statements by a conservative in this encyclopedia? Meanwhile Egypt burns and our president is likely playing basketball.--Jpatt 18:25, 30 January 2011 (EST)

::Esmith543, did Michelle Bachmann say that understanding or preventing abortion was above her paygrade? Did she say to Hispanics of the need to punish their enemies? Did she tell a certain plumber that the wealth he would create would be taken away and spread around as she saw fit? Did she invent global warming? Does she stand for the National Anthem with her hands at her side? Or should we merely ignore all of that if they are done by a Democrat? Karajou 18:59, 30 January 2011 (EST)

@JpattIt: It was not a misspoken statement, she said in the same press conference that the Founding Fathers worked tirelessly to write slavery out of the Constitution. What the underlying theme of what I was saying is that there's going to be nothing negative about a Tea Party icon on Conservapedia, even though it purports to be "The Trustowrthy Encyclopedia". Regarding Egypt, it's mentioned on the side in the top news, but I can find no other mention of riots anywhere. Also, though I am not an Obama supporter at all, he has not been playing basketball. He has come out and said that the Egyptian people are right in asserting themselves, and has communicated with Mubarak himself about what he plans to do.

@Karajou: Whoever said that understanding or preventing abortion was above her paygrade should be mentioned on Conservapedia as having said that. It's just a guess, but whoever said that has been quoted as saying that on here. It should also be mentioned on the page of whoever said that Hispanics should punish their enemies. Regarding quotes like that, however, on Rush Limbaugh's page, he is not quoted as saying ""I tell people don't kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus--living fossils--so we we'll never forget what these people stood for.". Glenn Beck is not quoted as saying "shoot them in the head", regarding liberals. While I disagree with liberals, I do not think that they should be shot, and I also believe that standards must be applied evenly, if we're going to quote whoever told Hispanics to punish their enemies, we should quote Limbaugh and Beck as saying what I've just quoted. Who told a certain plumber that their wealth would be taken and spread around? That should also be mentioned. No one "invented" global warming. Climate change is an observable phenomenon, and if you'd like to debate that, I'd be more than happy to. Standing with your hands at your side for the National Anthem does not matter. If we're going to judge politicians for that, we should also judge them if they wear American flag pins on their suits. During the presidential debates, Obama wore one, while McCain did not. No, none of those issues, except for the last one, should be ignored, standards must be applied evenly. If Harry Reid were quoted as saying that John Quincy Adams abolished slavery, I would be insisting that that be mentioned too.

::Maybe you are under the impression that we are fair and balanced? Let me inform you, that is a news slogan and not a conservative principle. You have nothing but disdain for conservatives and you think you are superior to conservatives. You'll show us, ha, please go back to Wikipedia where you'll be accepted with open arms. --Jpatt 21:04, 30 January 2011 (EST)

::By using the word "whoever" you are attempting to cast doubt on the above statements, as if they were never said by Obama at all, yet here you sit demanding we put a more negative light on conservatives who oppose him and his policies. It's not going to work, ESmith. Please push your propaganda somewhere else. Karajou 10:19, 31 January 2011 (EST)
strange sentence
I find the following sentence a bit strange for an encyclopedia: "A search for her on Google turns up five positive sites for every 100 nasty liberal smear sites, like the Huffington Post"
Why not just say, that the liberals are running a smear-campaign against her on the internet?<br />
Btw: the article doesn't mention that she is strongly opposed to gay marriage. Is there a reason for that?<br />
Btw2: I'm not making the edits because i think this article is important for Conservapedia, I have too little confidence in my English abilities and I just don't know enough about Bachmann... so I would be glad if someone more competent than I could do the suggested edits. == Afraid of the Truth? ==

I will preface this with: I'm starting to wonder if this isn't run with the intention of making the Right look bad by blatantly ignoring the missteps of anyone on the Right.

That being said, I understand that this site will clearly contain content favoring everyone on the Right. My only question is, why would you not fairly post the gaffes? The truth about anyone? Perhaps I am taking this site too seriously, but the speed at which my modifications, which contained truth, mind you, not put forth by the "liberals," were reverted is amazing.
She represents the 6th District of Minnesota.

A movement conservative, Michele Bachmann defeated a massive attempt by liberals to unseat her in 2008 and 2010Citation needed. Prior to her election to Congress, she served in the Minnesota state legislature since first being elected there in 2000 as a check against the leftists then encroaching on Minnesota's freedoms.
Liberal Criticisms
Liberals have been hysterical about some of the candid observations of Congresswoman Bachmann. She was targeted for comments made seeking an investigation into the Obama-Ayers connection, the "tolerant" liberal establishment even compared her to the Nazis. She deserves many compliments for her insight and courageCitation needed. Congresswoman Rep. Bachmann "has shown an uncanny knack for infuriating critics with sometimes off-the-wall behavior and comments, all the while advancing her own political career." <ref>[http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/19/pub-michele-bachmann/ Outspoken But Not Outmaneuvered, Rep.
Bachmann's husband has also been the target of untrue smears by liberals. Fearful of her popularity as she runs for president, liberals have taken the low road and attacked her family.
Public Persona
While Michelle appears to be the current favorite after her victory in the Straw Poll in Ames, Iowa, her public image has taken a credibility hit over time.
