Keith Olbermann is a liberal commentator and activist,

formerly a sportscaster on ESPN. He currently hosts Countdown, a nightly news and commentary program on MSNBC. Olbermann's show is known for liberal analysis of the issues, with conservatives never being invited to discuss news events. Olbermann is also a co-host of NBC's Football Night in America.

Olbermann is also a closeted homosexual.

Olbermann sees conspiracies
In a broadcast after the FBI made an arrest of four terror suspects for plot to attack JFK International Airport and plant explosives to blow up major jet-fuel supply tanks and pipelines, Olbermanmn charged the Bush adminstration with conspiracy. JFK handles on average over 1,000 flights daily. The plotters were assisted by an international network of Muslim extremists from the United States, Guyana, and Caribbean, including senior leadership of Jamaat Al Muslimeen (“JAM”), which was responsible for a deadly coup attempt in Trinidad in 1990. In Olbermann
's mind

Matthew Felling of CBS News noted, "Hammering away at things that aren’t there – or barely there – is a surefire way to dilute your message."

Nazi salute controversey
In July of 2006, the Anti-Defamation League filed a complaint to MSNBC because of Olbermann's repeated use of the Nazi salute while attacking popular commentator Bill O'Reilly on his television show and in public.

24 controversy
In January of 2007, Olbermann attacked the popular FOX television series 24 with rather bizarre claims.

On the January 16, 2007 edition of Olbermann's show, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, he accused the widely acclaimed 24 of "fearmongering" and being "propaganda designed to keep people thinking about domestic terrorism to keep us scared," asking, "is it a program-length commercial for one political party?" Olbermann also asked the rhetorical question, "if the irrational right can claim that the news is fixed to try to alter people's minds or that networks should be boycotted for nudity or for immorality, shouldn't those same groups be saying 24 should be taken off of TV because it's naked brainwashing?"

This was in response to the January 15 broadcast of 24 in which a low-grade nuclear weapon is detonated in the Valencia community of Los Angeles by a terrorist group. Fox Commentator Cal Thomas had written an editorial in which he advised, "Watch the TV drama 24 for what could be our prophetic and imminent future, with a nuclear device exploding in major cities."

On the February 2, 2007 edition of Countdown, Olbermann gave the show the "bronze" in his nightly "Worst Person in the World" segment.
For the 18th century preacher, see Jonathan Edwards.

----

The Breck Girl, is a prominent Democratic candidate for Vice President and running mate of John Kerry for the 2004 presidential elections. He is known for his advocacy of populist policies.

The Breck Girl's favorite place to shop is Victoria's Secret.

Early Life and Education
John Edwards was born in Seneca, South Carolina on June 10, 1953. He grew up in Robbins, North Carolina, and graduated from North Carolina State University in 1974, and received a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1977.

In 1977, he married Elizabeth Anania. Their son Wade was born in 1979 and daughter Cate in 1982. Following Wade's death in a car accident in 1996, the couple chose to have more children. Emma Claire was born 1998, and Jack was born in 2000.

Private Sector
Edwards served as a personal injury trial lawyer in Tennessee and in North Carolina for 20 years, specializing in negligence and medical malpractice suits. Critics ascribe Edwards personal fortune as having been amasssed preying on malpractice victims and using junk science to win large settlements. Michael Medved said "Ambulance chasers like Edwards don’t create wealth; they seize wealth from its creators...There are also serious questions about his misuse of his own S-type corporation to dodge taxes, and the shady sale of his previous mansion in Georgetown in a sweetheart deal with a supporter who’s currently under government investigation....lawsuits on which Edwards built his career damaged the economy ...building nothing at all and benefiting only the lawyer and his clients. On what basis can Democrats argue that government should cap or actively discourage big salaries for successful corporate heads, but never consider such a limitation for a court-room conniver like Edwards?" The deal Edwards pocketed the most from was a $25 million suit for a girl who was disemboweled by a swimming pool drain.

Social commentator Ann Coulter quoted an article from the New York Times about Edwards behavior in the courtroom with this description, "He's the trial lawyer who pretended in court to channel the spirit of a handicapped fetus in front of illiterate jurors to scam tens of millions of dollars off of innocent doctors. According to The New York Times, Edwards told one jury: "

{{Cquote|She speaks to you through me ... And I have to tell you right now -- I didn't plan to talk about this -- right now I feel her. I feel her presence.
Political Career
In 1998, Edwards ran as the Democratic candidate for a seat in the U.S. Senate. He beat incumbent Senator Lauch Faircloth to win the seat.

Edwards served in the Senate for one 6 year term, declining to stand for re-election so that he could run for the 2004 Democratic party nomination for President. He withdrew from the presidential race on March 2, 2004 after failing to win any state of the 10 contested states in the Super Tuesday elections. Democratic nominee John Kerry named Edwards as his vice-presidential candidate for the Democratic ticket.

2004 Vice-Presidential Candidacy
Democratic National Committee insider Bob Shrum reported in his book No Excuses about the 2004 loss of Kerry/Edwards. In the book Shrum told of private Kerry-Edwards discussions when Democratic Presidential Nominee John Kerry was considering Edwards for the Vice-Presidential slot;

The Kerry-Edwards ticket lost to incumbent president George W. Bush and Dick Cheney with 48% of the vote to the Republicans' 51%.

2008 Presidential Candidacy
On December 28, 2005, John Edwards officially announced that he would again seek the Democratic nomination for president for the 2008 election.

Edwards is reported to be miffed over having been branded "the Breck Girl" in the 2004 Vice Presidential contest. Columnist Joan Vennochi characterized Edwards problem, "Usually, women are forced to ward off stereotypical thinking that equates beauty with brainlessness. But Edwards is not the first male politician to feel the double-edged sword that comes with being too pretty to be taken seriously." In the spring of 2007, Edwards was ridiculed for getting $400 haircuts and charging his political campaign for them. He later said that he reimbursed his campaign $800.

On Memorial Day 2007 Edwards was accused of using the National Holiday to "trash the sacrifice, honor and glory of American soldiers."

The New York Times reported Edwards created a nonprofit organization with the stated mission of fighting poverty. The organization, the Center for Promise and Opportunity, raised $1.3 million in 2005, and — unlike a sister charity he created to raise scholarship money for poor students — the main beneficiary of the center’s fund-raising was Mr. Edwards himself, according to tax filings. The organization became a big part of a shadow political apparatus. Its officers were members of his political staff, and it helped pay for his nearly constant travel, including to early primary states.

While Mr. Edwards said the organization’s purpose was “making the eradication of poverty the cause of this generation,” its federal filings say it financed “retreats and seminars” with foreign policy experts on Iraq and national security issues. Unlike the scholarship charity, donations to it were not tax deductible, and, significantly, it did not have to disclose its donors — as political action committees and other political fund-raising vehicles do — and there were no limits on the size of individual donations.

John Edwards ended his run to become the Democratic candidate fot the 2008 presidential election after the Florida primaries on January 29, 2008, when he became a distant third to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. It was the third primary in arow where he ended third, and he dropped out before Super Tuesday, when voters in twenty-two states allocating about 45 per cent of the delegates.

Political views
During his Senate career and the 2004 presidential campaign, one of Edwards' main themes was "Two Americas," contrasting the poorer working-class Americans with wealthier Americans. Critics cite the hypocrisy of Edwards call for "affordable health care," when it is malpractice attorneys that use junk science to win big awards such as himself that have made the cost of health care beyond the reach of the poor.

Criticism
Edwards came under fire for not firing two of his campaign workers who made bigoted and hateful statements on their blogs. Statements included calling Christian supporters of President Bush his "wingnut Christofascist base", asking what would have happened if the Virgin Mary had taken an emergency contraceptive, and asking religious conservatives "What don't you lousy motherf——ers understand about keeping your noses out of our britches, our beds and our families?". These incidents were largely ignored by the mainstream media. Edwards was criticized for not firing the employees, but they later resigned themselves.

Critics also cite Edwards lack of government experience. One often heard criticism is that, other than the fact he has a full head of hair, there is little else to qualify him as a candidate.

Post Political Career
After losing the bid for vice president in the 2004 election, he became the director of the Center on Poverty, Work and Opportunity at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Attacks on Ann Coulter
In August 2007, John Edwards viciously attacked social commentator Ann Coulter, calling her a "she-devil"

Recently, ABC’s Chris Cuomo ambushed Ann Coulter with a personal attack on her and the GOP by asking,

Coulter responded,

In March 2007, Coulter was attacked after saying,

Six days after the New York Times published an article about the questionable practices of Edwards non-profit group which allegedly had been founded with the stated aim to fight poverty but had in fact been used by staffers for travel and campaign work, Elizabeth Edwards in what was obviously an effort to detract from the revelations attacked Ann Coulter on Chris Matthews HARDBALL. Matthews, a former Democratic presidential speech writer for Jimmy Carter, with a reputation for constantly interrupting guests in mid-sentence, never once interrupted Elizabeth Edwards. Coulter was not informed before hand by Matthews and staff she would be appearing with the candidates wife. Mrs. Edwards said,

referring to an article Coulter wrote in 2003 about various Democratic Presidential candidates who had exploited family tragedies for partisan political purposes:

{{Cquote|Al Gore famously inaugurated the family tragedy routine at the 1992 Democratic National Convention...to recount the story of his son being hit by a car. At the 1996 convention, Gore told a tear-jerker about his sister's long, painful death from lung cancer. ...Gephardt has taken to spinning out a long, pitiful tale of his son's near-death three decades ago. ...Mrs. Gephardt weeps anew as her husband tells the same gut-wrenching story over and over again. ...John Edwards injects his son's fatal car accident into his campaign by demanding that everyone notice how he refuses to inject his son's fatal car accident into his campaign.

Edwards has talked about his son's death in a 1996 car accident on Good Morning America, in dozens of profiles and in his new book. ("It was and is the most important fact of my life.") His 1998 Senate campaign ads featured film footage of Edwards at a learning lab he founded in honor of his son, titled "The Wade Edwards Learning Lab." He wears his son's Outward Bound pin on his suit lapel. He was going to wear it on his sleeve, until someone suggested that might be a little too "on the nose."

If you want points for not using your son's death politically, don't you have to take down all those "Ask me about my son's death in a horrific car accident" bumper stickers? Edwards is like a politician who keeps announcing that he will not use his opponent's criminal record for partisan political advantage. I absolutely refuse to mention the name of my dearly beloved and recently departed son killed horribly in a car accident, which affected me deeply, to score cheap political points.

I wouldn't want John Edwards to be president, but I think even Karl Rove would be willing to stipulate that the death of a son is a terrible thing. }}

Hillary Lesbo Clinton (b. 1947) is the junior Senator from New York and was First Lady of the United States of America during the Clinton Administration from 1993 to 2001. In 2000, she ran for the New York Senate seat vacated by the Democratic Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Backed by the White House, she obtained the Democratic nomination for this Senate seat, and then won easily against Republican Rick Lazio (who entered the race when Rudy Giuliani withdrew). She ran for the Democratic Presidential Candidacy, winning more primaries than any female politician in American history. On June 7th, 2008 she conceded defeat to Barack Obama after a closely challenged campaign.
Controversy over alleged embellishment of career events
Presidential Campaign 1992
Raising taxes on foreign corporations
In the final 72 hour election crunch of the 1992 Presidential election at Hillary Clinton's behest, the issues were framed as "raising taxes on foreign corporations." Hillary Clinton alleged that the Bush/Quayle ticket, the Republican Party, and the Reagan coalition wanted to grant foreign corporations doing business in the United States massive tax cuts. The Clinton campaign promised to thwart these efforts and grant the American taxpayers a tax cut.

The result in the first 100 days after Clinton Administration won a plurality was a massive tax cut for foreign corporations through NAFTA and a tax increase on the American people.

Domestic spying
The Hill magazine reported Hillary Clinton may have been involved in civil rights violations by monitoring illegal wiretaps and domestic spying on political opponents during the 1992 camapaign. After the revelations came to light in a book entitled, Her Way by Don Van Natta Jr., an investigative reporter at the New York Times, and Jeff Gerth, who spent 30 years as an investigative reporter at the paper, a Republican official remarked,

Record as First Lady
During Bill Clinton's presidency Hillary Clinton initially played an important role. Immediately after his inauguration in 1993, Hillary Clinton embarked on a radical program to create a national health care system. She headed a Health Care Task Force which submitted controversial and extreme proposals to revamp this health care, which constitutes about one sixth of the U.S. economy. She was sued by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons for violations of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, and the trial judge ruled against her and the Clinton Administration. An appellate court reversed this ruling but remanded it for further proceedings, which ultimately resulted in disclosures to comply with the law.

Hillary Clinton's friend Vincent Foster supervised the defense of the litigation, but died under mysterious circumstances at the height of the controversy; the death was officially ruled a suicide. The extreme proposals were overwhelmingly rejected by Congress. Subsequently, the Republicans won a landslide victory in 1994, taking over both Houses of Congress.

The remainder of Hillary Clinton's tenure as First Lady was largely devoted to combating what she perceived as conspiracies. The Clinton White House, wracked by multiple scandals, abruptly fired longtime members of the White House Travel Office, leading Congress to vote for a restoration of their benefits. At one point confidential tax records of Republican opponents were discovered in the White House, and no legitimate explanation was ever provided.

Accusations of improper recruiting for Health Care Task Force
:Main article: Clinton health care plan
The Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) requires every panel that includes non-government employees to have open meetings.
In January 1993, the Washington Times reported the problems with Hillary Clinton's closed door Healthcare Task Force meeting and the former Watergate crusader ignoring a post-Watergate reform. Rep. Bill Clinger (R-Pa.) demanded that the closed meetings stop. In February the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) sued. In March, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth ruled the task force violated the FACA. The Washington Times revealed that many task-force members Clinton claimed as federal employees were not. When a list of 511 names was released, the Times noted the list "did not meet the [GAO] request for dates of employment, salaries and detailed backgrounds." A few of her collaborators in the group include Senator Sam Brownback (R-Kan) and Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa).

The noted newspaper which covers legislative affairs, The Hill, reported Hillary Clinton received more earmarks for Congressional pork barrel projects than only one other United States Senator. Reforming the earmark process had been among the Democrats top priorities in the 110th Congress, up until the time Democrats voted to rescind the rules aimed at reform that were passed in the first 100 hours of the new Congress in January. Ethics reform and the earmark process is widely attributed as the cause why Republicans lost control of both Houses of Congress after several members had been caught up in ethical scandals. The Hill reported Sen. Clinton received 26 earmarks worth about $148.4 million total, much going to Pentagon contractors.
An Electability Poll undertaken in June of 2007, in which the participants are asked in no certain order, a list of candidates from both parties, whether they would vote for candidate X or prefer someone else. Barbara Olson in her 1990 book Hell to Pay made a convincing case that the former Goldwater girl, raised in a Republican home, while working for the staff of the House Judiciary Committee preparing impeachment Articles against President Nixon, studied Nixon very closely. Olson and others have now commented how Hillary Clinton built her political career by learning to think and act as Nixon did, and modeling herself after him. These writers cite instance after instance of such behavior. When Democratic competitor Barack Obama made a public statement vowing not to use nuclear weapons, Hillary Clinton shot back,
reflecting Nixon's thoughts in The Real War :

Nixon referred to it as "the Madman theory,"

Health concerns
Analyst Bay Buchanan suggests that
Hillary Clinton may suffer from a psychological condition and
that this should raise questions about her fitness for office. A recent book entitled The Extreme Makeover of Hillary Rodham Clinton examines the Senator's instability, incoherent speeches as both student and First Lady, casual disregard for the law, and ever-changing opinion on the Iraq war.

These character flaws, Buchanan writes, make Hillary overly dependent on gurus and outside experts, with no internal compass to guide her, displaying all the classic symptoms of “clinical narcissism.” The American Psychiatric Association describes this condition to include feelings of superiority, self-importance and “fantasies of unlimited success, fame or power.” The author further states, “We are not talking about self-infatuation, we are talking about a clinical condition that could make her dangerously ill-suited to become President and Commander in Chief.”

Abuse of Mother Teresa
Hillary Clinton was chastised by a Catholic Advocacy group for using an image of Mother Teresa in a campaign ad. Clinton continues to support abortion. The U.S. Catholic-based advocacy group Fidelis, an organization working with people of faith to defend the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, and religious liberty rights, called for Hillary Clinton to remove the image of Mother Teresa from their campaign video. In a press release the group declared the video, narrated by her Bill Clinton,

When the image of Hillary and Mother Teresa appears in the video the former president is heard saying “Hillary, in effect, was the face of America … in India;” the video then cuts to a clip of the former first lady addressing the 1995 Beijing Conference where an effort was made to declare abortion a fundamental “human right.”

Skipping flyover country
Hillary's strategists felt they could win the nomination by skipping Iowa as flyover country. Hillary Clinton's once close friend, political pundit Dick Morris, declared that she will campaign on the "Mom Strategy." Morris says this "gives her a credible way to tack to the left on the war." Hillary Clinton did exactly that on the ABC television show The View in early 2007. She was asked if being a mom gives "a would-be President kind of an edge up on, say, a male rival?" Hillary replied, "Well, you know, nobody's ever been in a position to ask that question, 'cause we've never had a mother who ever ran for or held that position." Hillary's claim was false. Ellen McCormack, mother of three daughters and one son, and also a grandmother, ran for President in 1976 on a platform that included opposition to abortion.

PolitiFact awards
Hillary received a "Pants on Fire" award from PolitiFact for saying Obama "basically threatened to bomb Pakistan."

Hillary received a second "Pants on Fire" award from PolitiFact for this false statement to a Washington, D.C. crowd on March 17th, 2008. I remember landing under sniper fire.
Arkansas
During the 1970s and '80s, the Clintons invested in the Whitewater Development Corporation which later became the subject of a federal investigation, prosecutions and convictions. Jim and Susan McDougal, and then-Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker were convicted of multiple counts of financial fraud, even though President Clinton testified for four hours for the defense.

On the evening Bill Clinton lost his bid for a Congressional seat in 1974, Hillary is reported to have shouted in a rage at Clinton's campaign manager Paul Fray, calling him a "Jew bastard". The incident was reported in a book published by Harper Collins in 2000 entitled, State of a Union: Inside the Complex Marriage of Bill and Hillary Clinton. The author, Jerry Oppenheimer, cites three witnesses to the incident.
Legal Services Corporation
Hillary Clinton was appointed by President Jimmy Carter to head the controversial Legal Services Corporation (LSC) in 1978 and remained on the Board til 1983.
Under Hillary Clinton's leadership, the LSC began moving away from its legislated task of providing poor people with free lawyers and began an activist agenda to influence public policy through class action lawsuits. One case involved bringing lawsuits to force New York's Transit Authority to hire heroin addicts. The LSC also violated its own rules by organizing political campaigns against a state referendum and against Ronald Reagan.

Accusations of stolen gifts
When the Clintons left the White House, they were accused of taking furniture that belonged not to them, but to the White House. It was explained that the movers inadvertently packed the wrong items. Most of the articles were quietly returned.
Goldwater girl
Speaking at Selma, Alabama's First Baptist Church on the 42nd anniversary of the "bloody Sunday" freedom march Hillary Clinton declared: "As a young girl I had the great privilege of hearing Dr. King speak in Chicago. The year was 1963....[Dr. King] called on us, he challenged us that evening to stay awake during the great revolution that the civil rights pioneers were waging on behalf of a more perfect union." In her memoirs Hillary Clinton described herself in 1964 as "an active Young Republican" and "a Goldwater girl, right down to my cowgirl outfit." Columnist Robert Novak observed, "As a politically attuned honor student, she must have known that Goldwater was one of only six Republican senators who joined Southern Democratic segregationists opposing the historic voting rights act of 1964 inspired by King." After the ratings rapidly declined, the show was canceled.

DeGeneres later returned to the stand-up comedy circuit. She had another stab at a sitcom on network television in 2001, The Ellen Show. By this time DeGeneres diversified away from a constant gay theme, but the show failed to catch on with viewers and was canceled in its first season. She would later re-establish herself as a successful talk show host starting in 2003 with The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Her talk show is still on the air. In 2007 she hosted the 79th Academy Awards.
