<hr />
<div>The '''wedge strategy'''<ref>http://www.antievolution.org/features/wedge.html</ref> is a political and social action plan authored by the Center for the Renewal of Science & Culture.<br />
<br />
It is concerned with the advent of Western [[materialism]] that it claims has no moral standards. The major premise is that [[evolution]] has caused this erosion of values it sees in materialism. It claims that "materialists... undermined personal responsibility". In response to this it would "seek nothing less than the overthrow of materialism and its cultural legacies".<br />
<br />
The document outlines three phases to achieve this: Scientific Research, Writing & Publicity; Publicity and Opinion-making; Cultural Confrontation & Renewal.<br />
