Reince Priebus

2016-11-17T18:40:35Z

LeonardR: Updated to reflect his new appointment

Reince Priebus is a RINO Backer who was elected to be the Republican National Committee chairman in 2011, and then led the Republican Party to one of its worst performances in history: instead of winning the Senate as expected, the Republican Party lost seats there, and an incumbent Democrat was reelected president despite high unemployment.

Priebus has never been elected to public office. He was formerly the head of the Wisconsin GOP.

Priebus was reelected as Chairman of the Republican National Committee in early 2015 after Republicans scored historic gains in the 2014 midterm elections.

Priebus has been chosen by Donald Trump to be the Chief of staff for his new administration; this appointment has disappointed many Trump supporters, who consider Priebus to be part of the Establishment.

Trump Administration

2016-11-17T18:37:10Z

LeonardR: Added a pre-existant link to Reince Priebus's page on Conservapedia.

The Trump Administration consists of the leadership of the executive branch of the United States government under the presidency of Donald Trump.

The Trump Administration officially begins with the Inauguration on January 20, 2017, but unofficially began immediately after the election of Donald Trump on November 8, 2016, as the next president of the United States.

The first persons hired to lead the Trump Administration were conservative Steve Bannon, as chief strategist and senior counselor to the president, and pro-Establishment Reince Priebus, as chief of staff. The hiring of Reince Priebus disappointed many of Trump's supporters who hope that he will "drain the swamp" -- shrink the federal government -- rather than rely on insiders to perpetuate the status quo.

Drain the swamp

LeonardR:

Draining the swamp is a political term referring to the reduction and eventual elimination of the federal government's corruption and inefficiency. Although used by several other political figures before, the term was popularised by Donald Trump in his 2016 Presidential Campaign.

LeonardR: I thought this term is now worth its own page, due to its recent popularity.
