RuneScape is a popular web-based online browser-based MMORPG. It was developed and supported by Jagex, Inc., and based in Cambridge, England. RuneScape is offered in a free version or a subscription version.

Control of one's character in the game is mostly done by the use of bots, including character movement in the game world, purchasing items, selling, picking up or dropping items and changing a character's attire. The graphics interface is intuitive to most players.

Character development is another strong element of the game. A character begins with low skill levels and raises a skill by performing it. Several skills with weapons, armor and magic are used in combat and are raised by performing them. Monsters (dragons, demons, skeletons, etc.) are found in various game locations and respawn a few seconds after they are killed. Player characters can fight each other in designated game's areas. A further strong point the game has is the players ability to create and personalize their own account.

Non-combat skills are also a major aspect of the game. Players use skills such as fishing, mining, and woodcutting to collect raw materials. Secondary skills like cooking or crafting are used to convert these materials into useful items. Again, paying members have an upper hand as they have access to skills unavailable to non-paying members. Some examples of player-produced items are lobsters for restoring hitpoints and "runes" for casting spells.

In addition to skills, there are a variety of quests and minigames which offer useful rewards like skill experience or new items. RuneScape is updated frequently with new content, often on a weekly basis.

Criticism
General criticism
The most common criticisms of RuneScape's gameplay are its repetitive nature and relatively low quality of graphics (compared to other MMORPGs). However Jagex recently did an extreme overhaul of the graphics, and introduced "RuneScape HD," which quieted the majority of complaints about its graphics. Common positive criticisms are that it is browser-based (enabling it to be played from anywhere) and that it is free to play indefinitely.

Along with other RPGs, Runescape has come under criticism over its addictive nature with players sometimes using the game for days on end.

Evolution and the environment
Runescape has been criticized on its fan sites and its own sites forums concerning the games shameless socialist and evolutionary bias. One example of this is the message one gets when examining a monkey: "Possibly one of our oldest living relatives?" Even more notably, a gnome in the quest Money Madness explicitly states that Humans are descended from primates.

There is also the quest Perils of Ice Mountain, which is in its essence a heavily liberal-biased commentary on global warming, environmental activism, lobbying and use of fossil fuel.

Religion
The game has also been criticized by some for its portrayal of religion. Various deities, cults and organized religions are heavily involved in both RuneScape lore and in-game. The three most well-known and popular ones are Guthix, Zamorak and Saradomin,

Guthix, the god of balance, is portrayed as an being beyond human understanding. He has no definite form, appearance or gender. His followers include druids and other kinds of pagans. Like most of the game's gods, he is very uncaring, ignoring his worshippers.

Zamorak, the god of chaos, is an obvious parody of Satan. He enjoys bloodshed, violence and death. His followers are mostly deluded sects, such as the Dagon'hai, as well as a multitude of demons and other forms of beasts. Game content involving him often includes variants of demonic rituals and witchcraft. Strangely enough, he is very popular among the game's players.

Saradomin, the god of order is portrayed in a way very similar to that of to God the Father, both in appearance and characteristics. He is worshipped by a majority of the game's humans, primarily in a pseudo-Catholic way. However, all is not well - He is arrogant, uncaring and deceitful. His followers include H.A.M., an extremist group very similar to the Ku Klux Klan.

Among other deities are mysterious jungle deities closely linked to an in-game version of voodoo, a desert pantheon loosely based on Egyptian mythology, as well as many others. Idolatry in various forms are also prominent.
A liberal (also leftist) is someone who rejects logical and biblical standards, often for self-centered reasons. There are no coherent liberal standards; often a liberal is merely someone who craves attention, and who uses many words to say nothing. Liberalism began as a movement for individual liberties, but today is increasingly statist and, as in Europe, socialistic. Scientific studies have proven that liberalism is associated with other mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and atheism.
* Income redistribution, usually through progressive taxation
* Government-rationed medical care, such as Universal Health Care
* Taxpayer-funded and government-controlled public education
* The denial of inherent gender differences
* Insisting that men and women be placed in the same jobs in the military
* Legalized same-sex marriage
* Implementation of affirmative action
* Political correctness
* Support of labor unions
* Teaching acceptance of promiscuity through sexual "education" rather than teaching abstinence from sex.
* A "living Constitution" that is reinterpreted as liberals prefer, rather than how it was intended
* Government programs to rehabilitate criminals
* Abolition of the death penalty
* Environmentalism
* Disarmament treaties
* Globalism
* Opposition to the Bible.
* Opposition to an interventionalist American foreign policy
* Reinstating the Fairness Doctrine
* In 2005, it was reported by CBS News that liberals were the most likely supporters of the theory of evolution. The theory of evolution is a key component of atheistic ideologies in the Western World.
* Opposition to domestic wire-tapping as authorized in the Patriot Act
* Calling anyone they agree with a "professor" regardless of whether he earned that distinction based on a real peer review of his work (see, e.g., Richard Dawkins and Barack Obama).
* Opposition of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a major part of the War on Terrorism.
* "The long romance of Western leftists with some of the bloodiest regimes and political movements in history is a story not told often enough ...."}}

In September of 2008, the Wall Street Journal reported:

There's another goal, from my point of view, which is to try to lay the groundwork for a radical political force which would conceive of itself as distinctly to the left of moderate, reformist American liberals. And that has two aspects. One is to try to change that liberalism, to transform it by analysis, critique, and activism; the second is to build a radical movement which would be an autonomous force in its own right, which would be distinct from the traditional American liberal consensus. This radical part of the program involves not simply supporting the liberal students against conservative students and conservative professors, but trying to act on them, to push them to the left. It also involves trying to find and support, even trying to help create, networks of radical students in law school and of radical professors around the country — students and teachers who see themselves as wanting to go a lot further than most people want to go.
Liberal Rankings of Congress Members
The National Journal compiles the votes of each congress member each year and uses the information to create rankings of how liberal each member of the United States Congress is. In addition to showing the voting records of each member and given an overall all ranking of liberalness, the National Journal also ranks congress members by liberalness in the areas of social, economic, and foreign policy.

Liberalism in Europe today
In Europe, on the other hand, parties that call themselves liberal are moderate in outlook, ranging from centre-left to centre-right, promote typically economic and business freedom. The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe is a party of the European Parliament that represents most liberal parties from European countries. Similar policies are promoted by many liberal parties throughout the world, such as the Liberal Party of Australia.

Trade unions and socialist parties often criticize politicians for promoting lower taxes on business, or more flexible hiring and firing laws, by calling them "liberals" or neoliberals. Thus, just as in the US, "liberal" may occasionally be used as a term of abuse. But when someone is called "liberal" in Europe, it has an entirely different meaning than in the US. In fact, the US meaning of liberal is more similar to the politics of European socialist or social democratic parties.

Historical Liberalism
In history, the word "liberal" has meant different things at different times, and was associated with individual liberty in prior centuries. In the postwar period, liberals supported government intervention in the economy and welfare state policies, as well as peaceful coexistence with the communist block, which are not liberal policies in the sense of classical liberalism. After the end of the cold war, with the demise of socialism and communism, many liberals embraced some ideas from economic neo-liberalism, and coined it the "Third Way". In the area of national security and foreign policy liberals in the U.S. failed to define a consistent stance, even after the events of 9/11 and the beginning of the war in Iraq. Liberals generally support affirmative action, gay marriage, and abortion.

Original meaning: Classical Liberalism
Liberalism is a political philosophy with freedom as its core value. The term was originally applied to supporters of individual liberties and equal rights, but, in America, the term has come to represent a movement of social change that often conflicts with conservative values such as moral values and tradition.

See Classical Liberalism. Compare Libertarianism.

Alternative meanings of 'liberal'
The Big Bang theory is a pseudoscientific theory which God-hating atheists use to account for the acceleration of matter throughout the Universe, as part of their effort to deny the undeniable fact of God's creation of all of existence. Christian physicists, such as Dr. John Hartnett, have noted that the Big Bang theory was constructed to account for serious pitfalls to the theory of evolution, particularly the needed timescale of trillions of years, amply contradicted by terrestrial and astronomical evidence such as the fact that no new life is found when one opens a jar of peanut butter. Thus, the big bang is trotted out by God-hating atheist believers of the evolutionism religion who will go to Hell (good fight) to silence creationist opponents, even though the theory is based on little more than guesswork, speculation, and dubious assumptions.

Big bang theories are actually a class of scientific models that describe the Universe as expanding from a very hot, dense state approximately 13.7 billion years ago (although this number has changed several times throughout recent history). It was first proposed by Georges-Henri Lemaitre and evidence for the expansion was supposedly observed by Edwin Hubble. Later George Gamow predicted that the Big Bang would leave an observable microwave background radiation (or CMBR). This radiation was allegedly discovered by Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson at Bell Labs; they claimed that it was found to be close to that predicted by Gamow (Gamow predicted a background radiation level equivalent to a roughly 3 K black body object, and the observed level is that of a 2.725 K body).

The term "Big Bang" implies an explosion of matter into pre-existing space, but the theory actually indicates that space is dynamic and more space is constantly created in the interstices between particles as the density of the universe falls. In other words, the Big Bang describes the expansion of space and time. Big Bang theorists state that the Hubble redshift is a consequence of this stretching of the fabric of space.

Observations of distant supernovae indicate that the Universe is actually undergoing accelerated expansion and galaxy surveys and recent observations of the microwave background have allegedly corroborated these claims. Atheists claim that the acceleration is caused by some sort of dark energy, for which there is no evidence that it exists at all.

Scientists refer to the theoretical exact moment the Big Bang supposedly began as t=0 ("t" standing for "time"). At this time, according to their theory all of the matter in the universe - in fact, the universe itself - was contained within a single point (a single point in mathematics is infinitesimally small). A burst of energy known as the Big Bang is claimed to have issued forth, and the universe began. Vague 1.0×10-43 seconds later, the force of gravity separated from the other forces.
In 2006, researchers used the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (launched by NASA in 2001) to measure variations in the cosmic microwave background (a "faint glow which permeates the universe"). According to these measurements, the universe is estimated to be about 13.7 billion years old, "give or take a few hundred-thousand years".
Creationist and Theistic Evolutionary Views
Young earth creationist scientists contest the Big Bang Theory stating that it is scientifically unsound.

Some Old Earth Creationists and Theistic Evolutionists argue that the Big Bang is in fact mentioned in the Bible. Some Christian apologists who believe in an old earth, such as William Craig use the Big Bang as an apologetic, arguing that it proves that the universe had a beginning.

He further discusses the many theories that have been proposed to counter the Big Bang Theory due to its conclusion that there is a beginning or origin of creation. These additional theories have been broken down to still revert to a beginning. This in essence tries to proves a divine power or creator, which frustrates the many atheistic scientists that are trying to prove that God does not exist, including well known physicist Steven Hawking.

It should be noted though that if the Big Bang happened, then due to relativistic time dilation, it would not matter if the universe was created in 13.7 billion years old or 6 days as depending on ones reference frame it could have been created in both 13.7 billion years and 6 days due to time warpage. Dr. Gerald Schroeder, an Israeli astrophysicist, has put forwards models to this effect. In them he demonstrates that if the age of the universe according to evolutionists is divided by the big bang expansion factor that the resulting time is almost exactly 6 days. Intriguingly he also calculates that due to the rate at which the expansion was said to have slowed according to the big bang theory each significant eras according to the time scale of evolutionists correspond to six individual twenty-four hour days corresponding to the days of creation. Despite these numbers appearing in an astonishingly coincidental fashion from known figures put forward by secular science, atheistic scientists do not comment on the coincidence.

Scientific Criticism
It should be noted that the Big Bang theory has received criticism because it ignores the theory of an oscillating universe. Also, no first cause from the Big Bang has ever been successfully identified. Futhermore, critics of the Big Bang point out that not everything in the universe is actually moving apart from everything else as some galaxies have collided with other galaxies in the past, although this could be explained through understanding of classical mechanics.

Big Bang Theory Dissent Letter
Many have dissented from the theory, including the British astronomer Sir Fred Hoyle, the Nobel Prize winner Hannes Alfven, and astronomers Geoffrey Burbidge and Halton Arp. It was Hoyle who sarcastically coined the term during a radio broadcast.

In 2004, an ‘Open Letter to the Scientific Community’ disputing the big bang theory was signed by 33 scientists and has been published on the internet and in the science journal New Scientist.

The dissent letter has subsequently been signed by hundreds of individuals around the world. Professional cosmologists are actively creating models (some of which contradict the Big Bang scenario) and collecting data that probe the specific nature of the earliest observable aspects of the Universe.

The Horizon Problem
The horizon problem is an argument against the Big Bang theory.
As Jason Lisle explains:

Recognizing this difficulty, physicist Alan Guth conjured an explanation he named cosmic inflation.
According to this claim, during the universe's first 10-35 of a second, a period of extremely rapid, exponential inflation occurred, expanding the universe by a factor of at least 1026.
It would be the equivalent of taking a pea and expanding it to the size of our solar system in a time less than a millionth of a blink of an eye.
If this occurred, it would mathematically allow for the uniformity of the CMBR - the vast distances were in thermodynamical contact before the rapid inflation.
However, no mechanism that would cause this sudden expansion is known, and inflation remains, at present, entirely speculative.
