Each year the English language develops about a thousand new words. Over the course of a century, that amounts to 100,000 new words. Since the King James Version of the Bible was published in 1611, perhaps a half a million new English words have been developed.

The inevitable triumph of conservatism over liberalism is apparent from comparing the rates of generation of new terms of each type, and the quality of the terms so generated. Conservative terms are being generated at a faster rate, and with much higher quality, than liberal terms are. In the 20th century, for example, more conservative terms were developed, and they were developed at a steadier pace. The new liberal terms were clustered in the 1920s and 1960s, were fewer in number, and lacked the same high quality.

A small percentage of those new words are tremendously powerful. Here are some examples developed since the King James Version was published. Not a single one of these words was available to the translators of the King James Version:
Anti-Catholic bill
Dean, did you hear about bill 1098 in the Connecticut General Assembly? It tries to change the episcopal system used between bishops and parishes. It's getting a lot of backlash and might make a good news story. It was mentioned on Glenn Beck's show on Fox News. Here are a couple of links:
Governors
Hi--I was working on the Governors and Lt. Governors of the United States of America, and I noticed that someone recently created a similar page with pictures. I'm thinking the two could be combined (pictures on the second page moved to the first), but I don't know how to do that (I'm a wiki beginner). If you can show me how to do the first one as an example/guide, I can do the rest, I think.--KellyB 13:26, 18 March 2009 (EDT)
:Thanks for updating the table. To add the governer's pics, try this. --DeanStalk 13:43, 18 March 2009 (EDT)
::Appreciate the help, thanks. I added a bunch, and I'm going to add more later (the site is giving me a lot of errors at the moment), but in the meantime: Is there a way to get the pictures to line up so they look better (right justify, or something)?--KellyB 14:56, 18 March 2009 (EDT)
:::Thanks for adding the images. That's interesting you added the desire for the pics to line up, because I was making that change before I saw your suggestion. I added an "Images" column to the table to make them line up. --DeanStalk 15:03, 18 March 2009 (EDT)
::After creating the article, I actually checked if it might've been there in the Wanted Pages list for the news, but it wasn't :-\.
