Jdsmith:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_(band) A little more about the band. Flippin 11:17, 11 April 2007 (EDT)

Pixies aren't Punk Rock, they're alternative rock O*B Soul 12:12, 4 July 2007

Originated in the UK?
Punk originated in New York City with a band called The Ramones. The Ramones' 1976 tour of England sparked the punk movement there. Dadsnagem2 11:00, 31 January 2008 (EST)

:No. Ga ohoyt 21:07, 4 March 2008 (EST)
:I'm afraid Dadsnagem2 is correct. Punk rock started at CBGB's in New York City in the early 70s. Malcolm McLaren, the man credited for forming The Sex Pistols and starting the first wave of UK punk, did so after seeing the Ramones in New York in '75. The first punk show in the UK was on November 5, 1975. First punk show in the US was on March 30, 1974 in New York City. Even before that proto-punk started in the US (Iggy Pop put out his first album in '69 from Ann Arbor, Michigan). Second wave punk and hardcore punk both started in California... the only punk the UK started was post-punk with Factory Records. MrGrieves 21:43, 24 April 2008 (EDT)
::Actually, McLaren was involved with the New York Dolls, who were proto-punk, so his roots in the scene were before the Ramones. But I still think that the Ramones really invented the punk sensibility, even if the sources of the music are more diffuse. Dadsnagem2 11:42, 29 April 2008 (EDT)

Relient K
I don't think that Relient K really fits into any sort of "punk label". Thoughts?

nazi punks make me hard
any of you hot conservative punks want to get together for some buttsechs?
