Critical race theory (CRT) is a radical ideology asserting that races can be put into different categories: That white people are the opressor and black people and minorities are the opressed. Critical race theory is Postmodernist that pins races against each other. Critical race theory also asserts that America was founded on racism and slavery, as well as that any attempt to end racism in America, such as Brown vs. Board, is just an attempt to maintain White supremacy. Many parents have rightfully protested against critical race theory being taught in public schools.

Critical race theory rejects the core teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, that people should be judged on the content of their character and not the color of their skin. Critical race theory teaches that white people, white society, and white culture is inherently and irredeemably racist. Christopher Rufo of the Manhattan Institute says CRT “isn’t an exercise in promoting racial sensitivity or understanding history. It’s a radical ideology that seeks to use race as a means of moral, social and political revolution.”

Origins
:Cultural Marxism
Critical race theory was devised by Derrick Bell, Barack Obama’s favorite Harvard professor, in the early 1980s. It is the foundational for claim that the Founding Fathers were racist. CRT exemplifies Lenin’s strategy as applied to race. According to Discover the Networks:

Bell’s theory is in turn an innovation of Critical Theory, which was developed by Marxist thinkers of the Frankfurt School in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1923. The Institute’s left-wing scholars fled Hitler’s Germany in the 1930s, relocating to Columbia University in New York. Critical Theory teaches a view that all aspects of Western society are discredited, and this view forms the foundation of what we know today as political correctness. One of its most famous purveyors was the Frankfurt School’s Herbert Marcuse, longtime associate of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Julian Bond. Marcuse invented the concept of “partisan tolerance,” that is, tolerance for leftist ideas and intolerance of all others. The Southern Poverty Law Center applied Marcuse’s strategy in developing its “Hate Watch” list, and Rules for Radicals author Saul Alinsky used it in his own life’s work.

Tenets
Christopher Rufo says CRT teaches "that America is an irredeemably racist nation and that the constitutional principles of freedom and equality are mere “camouflages,” in the words of scholar William F. Tate IV, for white supremacy. The solution, according to prominent exponents of critical race theory such as Ibram X. Kendi, is to abolish capitalism and install a near-omnipotent federal bureaucracy with the power to nullify any law and silence political speech that isn’t “antiracist.”

According to their own policy prescriptions, the critical race theorists would limit or abolish the right to private property, freedom of speech, equal protection under the law, non-discrimination, free enterprise, and the Federalist system of government. In its place, they would create a new regime of group-based rights, race-based redistribution of wealth, omnipotent bureaucratic authority, and active racial discrimination. It's a program of revolution that rejects the founding principles equality and freedom, and would overturn the premise of the Constitution.

CRT in higher education
:Scientific racism
CRT has affected higher education in a number of ways, and many critics claimed that higher education was the breeding ground for the theory prior to its spread into general society. CRT has been developed and spread in a large number of academic papers, with journal editors showing a preference for analysis that promotes CRT relative to other theoretical frameworks.

In terms of faculty hiring, under Title VII of the Civil Rights Law of 1964, discrimination on the basis of race in hiring and promotion is illegal, however CRT adherents advocated that color-blind hiring and promotion practices must be abandoned because of the inherent "institutional racism" embedded in traditional views of academic standards and quality. Some universities reallocated budgets to create special minority hiring funds. Under this arrangement, academic departments could use color-blind hiring as vacancies occurred, but that separate funding would be made available from the central fund for additional raced-based hiring.

Starting in the 1980s, campuses began to adopt "speech codes" seeking to limit student speech that black students would find hurtful without a corresponding limitation on speech that majority students would find hurtful. CRT provided a rational for limiting traditional First Amendment rights of college students and staff.

In contrast with the 1960s, when the Civil Rights Movement fought to integrate campus housing, including fraternities and sororities, CRT has promoted "safe spaces" and segregated campus housing for minority students.

The first and most thorough adoption of CRT in the United States was at Evergreen State College in 2017. Proposals were advanced for race-based hiring and promotion, and administrators tried to pressure faculty to change the grades of a black student who complained. The students took over the library/administration building, seized the cafeteria, demanded that the President stand-down the police, while they hunted down Bret Weinstein, a faculty-critic, with baseball bats. When the administration called a town-hall meeting, the black students actively discouraged white students from attending. The national publicity of the crisis resulted in a large drop in enrollment and donations.

CRT view of law enforcement
:Systemic racism
Under traditional theories, the goal of law enforcement was the adoption of clear rules of conduct and then enforcing those rules in a color-blind manner. Because law enforcement officials have to make split-second decisions that could result in serious bodily harm or death, most states adopted qualified immunity statutes to protect individual law enforcement officers from liability for such injuries.

In contrast, CRT sees all events and interactions between police and minorities as involving race and the exercise of power to subjugate racial groups. Accordingly, CRT justifies movements to "defund the police" and to repeal qualified immunity for law enforcement.
Mathematical Association of America
Mathematics is possibly the profession which deals with abstract truths and discovery independent of cultural factors. Our current mathematical knowledge has its origins in Arabia, Greece, China, India among other civilizations. The Mathematical Association of America's Committee on Minority Participation in Mathematics issued a statement on October 2, 2020: Of course, this criticism is inept because the Executive statements specifically allow for teaching of CRT objectively, and prohibit in race-blaming of any group, whites, blacks or other people of color or misusing stereotypes.

Southern Baptist Convention
According to the Alabama-based Capstone Report, Critical race theory has made its way into some of the Southern Baptist Convention's (SBC) seminaries. At its 2019 Annual Meeting, messengers to the SBC narrowly passed Resolution 9, which stated that CRT (along with intersectionality, another controversial construct) could be "useful tools" in interpreting modern issues (though it pointed out that any such use not impinge on Biblical inerrancy or infallibility).

In response, a Conservative Baptist Network was formed in February 2020 to battle the spread of CRT within the SBC. It is concerned that CRT has overwhelmed the proper Baptist emphasis on evangelism and spiritual renewal. Theologian Tim Keller has noted:

Boy Scouts and other youth groups
Following the death of George Floyd, a nation-wide panic arose to "virtue signal" support for "racial justice" as defined through the lens of CRT. For example, on June 15, 2020, the Boy Scouts of America Executive Committee issued a statement that redefined "Be Brave" as including being anti-racist. {{quotebox|The Boy Scouts of America stands with Black families and the Black community because we believe that Black Lives Matter. In 2007, a Professor at the University of Waterloo published a research paper, "Ugly on the Diamonds: An Examination of White Privilege in Youth Baseball" which argued that there are elements of racism within the color-blind polices of the Little League.
In the federal government
Trump administration ban
On September 4, 2020, President Trump ordered federal executive branch departments to halt employee training based upon critical race theory. Russ Vought, director of the Office of Management and Budget, wrote a memo announcing Trump's instruction to stop using controversial forms of training on “critical race theory,” “white privilege” and “any other training or propaganda effort that teaches or suggests either...that the United States is an inherently racist or evil country or...that any race or ethnicity is inherently racist or evil.” Vought added, “These types of ‘trainings’ not only run counter to the fundamental beliefs for which our Nation has stood since its inception, but they also engender division and resentment within the Federal workforce." Vought's memo concludes:
The Executive Order recognizes the inconsistency between CRT and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Attorney General must research how CRT could establish a hostile work environment prohibited by Title VII.

On September 28, 2020, the Director of OMB followed up with further guidance requiring all federal departments to report on all of their contracts and contractors by November 20, 2020 all violations of the other guidance. ===Biden junta reinstatement===
In June 2021 the Biden junta revived “diversity training” lessons that former President Donald Trump had ended. Biden dropped a Trump-era investigation into the anti-Asian discriminatory practices of Yale University. Under CRT theory, anti-Asian discrimination is permissible because Asians are so-called “white-adjacent.”
CCP propaganda
The Chinese Communist Party is producing English-language videos promoting critical race theory to American kids. The video is produced by China Global Television Network (CGTN), which is a state-owned media company controlled by the CCP. Chinese state propaganda is virtually indistinguishable from the curriculum in many American public schools. One line from the video has a woman trying to teach about racism says: “It may be tempting to hide the news from kids but it’s better to tackle things head-on.”

This, from a government that hid the release of the coronavirus pandemic from its own people and world. The video finishes with the lines, “being not racist just keeps things the way they are now, by being anti-racist, you can help lead our children to a brighter future.” And this from a government that is in the process of ethnically cleansing its population by force. It is committing genocide by putting people into Uyghur concentration camps and forcibly sterilizing women.
Loudoun County, Virginia
Loudoun County, Virginia
Scott Smith, a parent, was at the school board meeting in June 2021 because his daughter had been raped by a transgender boy in the girls’ bathroom at Stone Bridge High School. Smith was given a no-trespassing order prior to the meeting that forbids him from telling his story, part of an elaborative cover-up by the school district to not publicize the rape of his daughter. When Smith showed up at the school to complain about what had happened, they accused him of lying and called the police.

Moments before Smith’s arrest, the school board announced that they had no record of any rape regarding their transgender policies at their schools. An Antifa activist at the meeting claimed his daughter was lying. When an argument ensued, police grabbed his arm. When he pulled his arm away, he was assaulted and thrown to the ground, handcuffed, and removed from the room.

And while the far-left prosecutor’s office, which would eventually try to throw the book at Smith over his arrest at the school board meeting, insisted they were taking the rape case seriously, the same boy was let back into the school system. Within months, he had committed another rape.

But while it is clear the local school board put children at risk in order to cover for their own demented ideology, things didn’t stop there. Smith’s case was used in Merrick Garland's October 2021 memo warning of “domestic terrorism” at school board meetings.

Criticism
Peter M. Burfeind writes,
{{quotebox|Black Lives Matter is the operational arm of “critical race theory,” the postmodern philosophy of “critical theory” applied to race. Critical theory suffers an inescapable epistemological conundrum. It’s the Liar’s Paradox: If a Cretan says all Cretans are liars, is he to be believed? [...]

So, who came up with critical theory? You got it: white men. Or do you not recognize in Immanuel Kant, Karl Marx, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Michel Foucault, Jean Baudrillard, Ferdinand de Saussure, George Herbert Mead, Noam Chomsky, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Roland Barthes, and Jacques Derrida, a whiteness the lilies themselves would envy. Should we not add critical theory to the list of oppressive systems dead white men came up with to advance white power? [...]

According to its own terms, critical race theory must be racist. Furthermore, Black Lives Matter, the political movement based on its theories, must also be racist—and not black racism, but white racism. At a deep, subconscious level, it serves the purpose of advancing and enhancing “white privilege.”

How else do you explain rich white kids screeching venom at black police officers and business owners? Or how else do you explain that the theorist who’s been most empowered by critical race theory is white author Robin DiAngelo?

Ruminate on the sad indisputability of this statement for a moment: Something in the leftists’ minds needs to keep minorities from finding hope and advancing in existent American “systems.”

Meanwhile, of necessity by the terms of critical race theory, the flip side of this dynamic is going on. Leftists feel the new world order will advance their wills to power. Now, at the subconscious level, leftists don’t know they’re doing this. They may reject they’re doing this — because they have white fragility. Or, more accurately, they are projecting onto others what they themselves are.

They are truly the racists, as they always have been. And here’s sort of an obvious point: They’re telling everyone this now. This is exactly what they’re currently saying: “We’re all racist.” To which I say, “Speak for yourself, but interesting what you’re saying.” [...]

Who do you suppose will benefit most from that new regime of civil rights law? Sounds like a nice system if you’re an upper-middle-class white leftist. That’s because it is. It’s exactly as critical race theory proposes. “Whites gonna white,” says the theory, so how can the theory itself be anything other than the latest vehicle for whites to empower themselves?

The evidence bears this out. The left has had decades of power and control of our cities, academia, and media. They’ve had ample opportunities to demonstrate the wonders of their ideas. Yet all we see is the perpetuation of the very things they decry, while they gain more and more power.

For decades, we’ve been told all the violence and ugliness spawned by leftism are merely the birth pangs of a new system. Well, how long do you leftists need to give birth? Enough already! Give us a taste of the glories of the New World in your urban microcosms!

Or maybe, as Maya Angelou said, “When someone shows you who he is, believe him.” Leftists are outing themselves as racists complicit in perpetuating systems of oppression. Maybe we should believe them. [...]

Perhaps an honest appraisal of critical race theory is in order, so we can liberate ourselves from the sticky epistemological tentacles of a nonsensical theory. Unfortunately, writ into the DNA of its axioms is the deconstruction of rational dialogue — that too, you see, is just another tool of white privilege. Leftism can’t have room for questions.

We could extol what is by and large a just system for the advancement of anyone who applies himself and works hard — the American system. Individuals in that system could be spending their days in hope and personal achievement using the liberties available to them in this country. Or we could have a healthy discussion about race as it relates to traditional American principles.

Yet instead, we’ll just have to wait for the virus of critical race theory to work its nihilistic destruction on the black community, while whites sit on the sidelines with their shut, masked mouths, on bended knee, advancing their privilege.}}
Cultural Marxism is a branch of Marxist ideology formulated by the Frankfurt School, which had its origins the early part of the twentieth century. Cultural Marxism comprises much of the foundation of political correctness. It emerged as a response of European Marxist intellectuals disillusioned by the early political failures of conventional economic Marxist ideology. The attacks are usually framed in Marxist terms as a class struggle between oppressors and oppressed; the members of the latter class allegedly include women, minorities, homosexuals, and adherents of non-Western ideologies such as Islam. Among cultural Marxists, the book Dialectic of Enlightenment is considered to be a central text.</blockquote>

Engels declared that Balzac was his favorite writer. Marx's Das Kapital also makes some references to the works of Balzac.

Vladimir Lenin was also a proponent of Realism and stressed its superiority over Modernism. He considered Leo Tolstoy to be the most effective depicter of the everyday life of Russian peasants, even though Tolstoy was a nobleman. Lenin once wrote to Maxim Gorky: "Until this Count, we had no real peasant in our literature." Here too, the personal merit of Tolstoy as an author, to Lenin, is not the superlative genius of Tolstoy that enabled him to represent both the Russian Kulaks as well as the Russian Muzhiks so effectively. Ultimately it was the compulsion for truthful representation that made Tolstoy do so.

Both the thesis of Marx-Engels on Balzac and that of Lenin on Tolstoy hold that it is the conditions of the class struggle which determine those of the cultural struggle, not vice versa (for it was the advent of French capitalism in Balzac's case and the fight of Russian peasants for emancipation in Tolstoy's case that "woke up" the two authors and oriented them towards social realism), and thus the cultural struggle must be subordinate to the class struggle.

In short, all three of Marx, Engels and Lenin considered culture to be part of the "superstructure" rather than the "base", and thus maintained that it is the change in the economy that leads to the change in a society's culture, and ran contrary to the thesis of the Cultural Marxists that a cultural revolution can be possible before the socio-politico-economic proletarian revolution.

Soviet Marxism against Cultural Marxism: Lukacs against the Frankfurt School
Knowing the above, one can more easily understand the nature of the cultural debates between Marxist intellectuals in the 1920s. The Soviet "orthodox" Marxists, such as Grigory Zinoviev, Nikolai Bukharin and Karl Radek, maintained that the revolution in capitalist countries will come only through the class struggle of the workers against the bourgeoisie and that culture plays a secondary role in this struggle. They also maintained that Marxist art should adhere to a simple, realistic and popularly understandable depiction of the evils of capitalism.

In a 1924 Soviet Communist Party congress, many Cultural Marxist and Modernist authors were harshly criticized by Soviet officials as "heretics". In his speech entitled The Struggle Against the Ultra-Lefts and Theoretical Revisionism, Zinoviev fiercely attacked Georg Lukacs' book History and Class Consciousness, declaring: ‘If we get more of these professors spinning out their Marxist theories, we shall be lost. We cannot tolerate theoretical revisionism of this kind in our Communist International.’ Nikolai Bukharin, soon to replace Zinoviev as Joseph Stalin’s chief ally in the Comintern, told Karl Korsch, author of one of the most influential Cultural Marxist texts: ‘We can’t put every piece of garbage up for discussion.’ Karl Radek also formulated the superiority of classical European Realism over Modernism, saying "If I were to write novels, I would learn how to write them from Tolstoy and Balzac, not from James Joyce." This year, which coincides with Stalin's takeover of the Party, marks the moment in which the Soviet Union closed its door to Cultural Marxism. Soon, the USSR made illegal such evils as homosexuality and abortion.. From now on, Cultural Marxists considered the USSR as the "betrayer of the revolution". The advent of the Hitler dictatorship in Germany also meant the Frankfurt School was closed, and from 1933 Cultural Marxists started emigrating to America.

Karl Korsch, Georg Lukacs (only in his early philosophical period) and Antonio Gramsci (see below) were the original founders of Cultural Marxism. Their thought influenced that of the members of the Frankfurt School of Critical Theory (Theodor Adorno, Max Horkheimer, Walter Benjamin, Herbert Marcuse, Erich Fromm etc.) who mingled Marxism with the theories of Sigmund Freud, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel and Immanuel Kant, something unacceptable for Soviet Marxists. For the Cultural Marxists, the world of ideas is equally important to the material one, and they maintained that it is possible for a revolution in the world of ideas to lead to a revolution in the material world. They also abandoned the defense of realism and instead championed modernism and abstract art, labelled as "degenerate" by both Nazis and Soviets. In response, they equated Nazism and Stalinism, being some of the first proponents of the theory of totalitarianism. The Frankfurt School's theories, akin to neo-Hegelian dialectical idealism and "Freudo-Marxism" focusing on "sexual liberation", are what forms the crux of Cultural Marxism.

Lukacs, however, soon repudiated these theories and returned to a much more orthodox Marxist stance, coming at odds with his former Frankfurt comrades, whose theories he now labelled "Café Marxism". He chose to live in the Soviet Union and his native Hungary and became the Culture Minister of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution under Imre Nagy. He fiercely criticized those Frankfurt School intellectuals who instead went to live in the comforts of the United States and West Germany. In 1962 Lukacs wrote: <blockquote>A considerable part of the leading German intelligentsia, including Adorno, have taken up residence in the "Grand Hotel Abyss" which I described […] as "a beautiful hotel, equipped with every comfort, on the edge of an abyss, of nothingness, of absurdity. And the daily contemplation of the abyss between excellent meals or artistic entertainments, can only heighten the enjoyment of the subtle comforts offered..</blockquote>

In the world of Marxist thinkers, what Lukacs said here is the equivalent of flashing a red cloth around at an angry bull. Lukacs said that the Frankfurt School thinkers started to become bourgeois idealists who didn't care about having an active hand in the fight against political exploitation and oppression. Now that they were famous and kind of moneyed, they were sitting at their cozy desks at the luxurious Grand Hotel writing about Marxism, but they were becoming increasingly detached from its political cause. He pretty much accused them of hypocrisy—of living like fat-cat capitalists and losing focus.

Andrew Breitbart gives a great if not brief crash course discussion about Cultural Marxism with Peter Robinson of the Hoover Institute for Uncommon Knowledge, and, in part, this is what he said:
<blockquote>Think about this: These guys left, THESE GUYS LEFT NAZI GERMANY and Mussolini's Italy to come to California in the 1940's and they lived by the beach, and they were depressed by the relentless cheery-ness - the productivity; and the capitalism that they witnessed around them. And they came up with, at the end of the day; We can call it Cultural Marxism, but at the end of the day, we experience it on a day to day basis, by that I mean a minute by minute, second by second basis. It’s political correctness and it’s multiculturalism.</blockquote>

In the video, Breitbart discusses the Frankfurt School, Critical Theory, Herbert Marcuse, Antonio Gramsci, Max Horkheimer, Theodor Adorno, Bertolt Brecht, and others of the German School, many which emigrated to America. He further wrote about Cultural Marxism more in-depth in his book Righteous Indignation.

Gramsci
Antonio Gramsci was a lieutenant of Joseph Stalin who headed the Italian branch of the International Communist movement (Comintern). After several failed assassination attempts on Mussolini, Gramsci was imprisoned in 1926 until his death in 1937. While in prison Gramsci wrote his Prison Notebooks, speculating on the failure of violent revolution to materialize in Western Europe as Karl Marx had predicted. Gramsci's works are considered by Socialists to be foundational to modern public education and Cultural Marxism.

Gramsci's theory of "cultural hegemony" states that the ruling capitalist "oppressor" class uses cultural institutions, such as "traditional marriage," to maintain power. The "oppressors" develop a "hegemonic culture" using ideology unlike Socialists who use violence, economic force, and coercion. "Hegemonic culture" propagates its own values and norms so that they become "common sense" values and thus maintain the status quo. According to Wikipedia, this "Hegemonic power is therefore used to maintain consent to the capitalist order, rather than coercive power using force" as Marxism does "to maintain order. This cultural hegemony is produced and reproduced" by the dominant Christian oppressor class "through the institutions that form the superstructure."

Joseph A. Buttigieg, Pete Buttigieg's father, was a founding member of the International Gramsci Society and served as the executive secretary.

Dutschke
:Long march through the institutions
The Long march through the institutions is a Marxist concept formulated in 1967 by the West German student movement leader Rudi Dutschke. Dutschke reformulated Antonio Gramsci's philosophy of cultural Marxism with the phrase the long march through the institutions (German: Marsch durch die Institutionen) to identify the political war of position or incrementalism, an allusion to the Long March (1934–35) of the Communist Chinese People's Liberation Army, by means of which, the working class or "oppressed" would produce their own intellectuals, civil servants, and culture (dominant ideology) to replace those imposed by the bourgeoisie or "oppressor class."

Karl Marx spoke of a sudden revolution, where everything changes in a moment. Gramsci, the head of the Italian Communist party, was thrown in prison by Benito Mussolini, where he speculated on the failure of Marxist revolution in his Prison Notebooks, and attributed the failure to the cultural hegemony of the bourgeois oppressor class. Dutschke built on Gramsci's writings by proposing a long march through the cultural institutions of society - the church, entertainment, civil service, educational faculties, family institutions and marriage - to replace the dominant culture and replace it with revolutionary godless cultural Marxism.

Dutschke said,

Gramsci theorized that if Communism achieved "mastery of human consciousness," then concentration camps and mass murder would be unnecessary. Mastery over the consciousness of the great mass of people could be attained if Communists or their sympathizers gained control of the organs of culture — churches, education, newspapers, magazines, the electronic media, literature, music, the visual arts, and so on. By winning "cultural hegemony," Communism would control the deepest wellsprings of human thought and imagination. One need not control all information itself if one can gain control over the minds that assimilate that information. Under such conditions, opposition would disappear since men are no longer capable of grasping the arguments of Marxism's opponents.

Criticism
The entire left-wing denies that Cultural Marxism exists, dismissing it as a far right ‘conspiracy theory’ and calling the entire topic a ‘myth’ or ‘hoax’. Wikipedia once provided a more honest article discussing the topic, before its irreversible slide into progressive bias compelled it to also write it off as a myth. Wikipedia has an entire section titled Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory within its page for the Frankfurt School. As of September 2020, Wikipedia has added an article titled "Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory," using the image of convicted terrorist and self-identified Nazi fascist Anders Behring Breivik to discredit its existence via guilt by association. Virtually every single source trying to prove it’s a myth are blatantly biased towards the left or even come from fellow Marxists. Most egregiously, at least one widely cited source comes from the Frankfurt School itself.

Perhaps the most common method of ‘rebuttal’ is to accuse those who acknowledge Cultural Marxism’s existence of being anti-semetic. This arises from the tendency of a small minority on the far right to highlight the fact that many of the Frankfurt School’s members were Jewish. The issue with the Frankfurt School is that they are Marxists; their race, religion, or ethnicity is irrelevant. The overwhelming majority of those who know Cultural Marxism exists share this view, and furthermore don’t rely on finding out if the people responsible for creating and spreading it were Jews either. Indeed, Cultural Marxism’s existence doesn’t rely on any connection to Jewish conspiracy theories.

Other common ‘rebuttals’ include downplaying the impact of the Frankfurt Schools’ ideology on the world, in spite of the fact that its modern-day adherents have unprecedented power and the ideology can be found in the West’s most powerful institutions. There’s also accusations of equating the push for equality and civil rights with a ‘nefarious plot’. Communists have always sought to subvert and co-opt civil rights movements for their own ends, but the fact remains that civil rights and communism are inherently anathema. MLK, the leader of the civil rights movement in the ‘60s, also denounced communism. Cultural Marxism has never truly advocated for civil rights and equality beyond equal outcomes (which they call ‘equity’), the acquisition of which involves severe civil rights violations.

Leading alt-right websites include Radix Journal, Countercurrents Publishing, The Unz Review, Taki Mag, The Right Stuff, and Red Ice.. More mainstream "alt-lite" websites include Breitbart and The Gateway Pundit.

Alt-right as a term appeared in November 2008 when Paul Gottfried addressed the H. L. Mencken Club about what he called "the alternative right". In 2009, two more posts at Taki's Magazine, by Patrick J. Ford and Jack Hunter, further discussed the 'alternative right.' The term is commonly attributed to Richard B. Spencer, president of the National Policy Institute and founder of Alternative Right magazine.

The alternative right has alternately been called libertarian nationalism, "neo"-paleoconservatism, "evolutionary" conservatism, "scientific" conservatism, and the post-religious right.

Style of Alt-right
The style of the alt-right is to reject the approaches of the mainstream media, and use the internet rather than traditional avenues of communication preferred by moderates.

The alt-right employs a "culture jammming" approach to its opposition with memes on Reddit, 4chan, 9gag, and Facebook.. This involves using modified artifacts of popular culture, specifically characters such as Pepe the frog, Moonman or anime characters to demonstrate the non-falsifiabile attributes of the neoliberal mantra of social change driven by global capitalism.

Breitbart news editor Stephen Bannon joined the Trump campaign in August 2016.

Rejection of neoliberalism
The alternative right holds neoliberalism responsible for the decimation of national borders and national identity. It views the rise of left-leaning governments as an effect of multicultural amalgamation caused by large business interests run amok. Libertarian (anarcho-capitalistic) elements of the alt-right oppose Keynesianism as well which, paradoxically, is the national (as opposed to global) predecessor of neoliberalism.

Due to the alt-right's equation of globalized capitalism with Marxism, the movement has been compared to national anarchism (anarcho-fascism) on Wikipedia.

Distinction from fascism
The alt-right seeks racial "identitarianism" through a largely monocultural state; and cultural cohesion over economic interests. The alt-right does not explicitly seek genocide of non-white races. It views national borders as a proxy for racial segregation, but does not support de facto racial segregation. Mainstream alt-righter members support skilled immigration.

Relationally, neo-nazism is a component of the alt-right (big-tent movement); the alt-right is NOT a component of neo-nazism. The alt-right heavily employs principles from Italian fascism which is the racially-agnostic predecessor of Nazism (German fascism).

Libertarian Nationalism
The alt-right distrusts large (anti-tribal) financial institutions as corrupt and rejects the open-borders aspect of mainstream libertarianism while affirming new allegiances, such as supporting gays by encouraging firearm ownership or giving support to unaffiliated Independent candidates that are anti-establishment, regardless of their political leanings.

The alt-right has seen its membership ranks swell exponentially with libertarians that reject weak national (non-tribal) leadership within their movement. Although they are not part of the original alt-right, ex-libertarians make up a plurality of this emerging grassroots movement.

View of Christianity
The alt-right emphasizes the crypto-polytheistic aspects of Christianity and links it to Greco-Roman and pan-European polytheistic history and "Western" accomplishments. The alt-right views Christianity as a religion distinct from Islam and Judaism in its polytheistic elements and "special" relationship to European history. The alt-right accepts the study of evolution and global warming as a product of Western polytheistic science. It rejects modern evangelical Christianity for its pro-immigration stance (for proselytization purposes) although it views Europe's history of colonization and Christian proselytization as having a positive effect on those respective colonial countries.

Due to its pro-"Western science" views the alternative right has on occasion called itself "evolutionary" conservatism or "scientific" conservatism.

Alt-right's approach to Israel
The alt-right views Israel as a model for white nationalism and/or Christianism. While opposing Jewish 'hypocrisy' on white identity issues, the alt-right admires the Jewish unity and tribalism manifested in a Zionist state In keeping with its isolationist approach, the alt-right opposes an EXCLUSIVE alliance between America and Israel.

Opposition
The movement is smeared by elitists of society that thinks it knows better. However, the usual liberal scare tactics and other social engineering schemes are rejected. The alt-right moves to its own beat. The alt-right opposes Feminism, and masculinity is promoted. Anything liberal and the views held by RINOs: immigration, political correctness, cultural appropriation, misogyny, "homophobia", etc. are fiercely rejected.

Where the Establishment or modern conservatives shy away from a fight for fear of being called "racist", "bigoted" or "ignorant" by liberals projecting their own attitudes and beliefs onto them, the alt-right unapologetically fights against this notion.

Extremist leftwing progressives at the Southern Poverty Law Center have taken notice, recently commenting about Breitbart and their inclusion to the SPLC hate-list

While the term has been used in specialized writing about politics and ideology for years, the term gain mainstream usage following a speech by Hillary Clinton attacking Donald Trump's connections to the Alt-Right.

Frouk3: typo fix

Reddit is a social media website. Their users submit content and vote submissions "up" or "down" to determine their position on the pages of the site. These votes give a user 'Karma', one for links and one for comments. The best content would reach the front page, hence the slogan "the front page of the internet." Reddit was a defining representation of democratization of culture and promoting the free flow of knowledge across the net. As the site grew and new CEOs took over, free speech became a casualty. Content and groups have been deleted by corporate management, this has generated a loud backlash.

Unlike other social media sites, the user page consists largely of previous posts and comments, no detailed user information, no avatar, no real names requirement, no friends list, no bio.

Nearly all social media sites are created/owned by liberals and Reddit is no different. Unlike Twitter where there is a large conservative user population, the exact opposite can be said of Reddit.

Subreddits
Reddit is organized into "subreddits", each for a subject or area of interest, where users submit their content. There are currently 50 default subreddits which automatically appear on the front page, but registered users can customize which subreddits they subscribe to and therefore which appear on their personal front page.

Reddit atheism subreddit is one of the largest, most active communities of atheists on the internet. In 2013, it was removed from the default subreddit list for not being up to standards of the site.

The website is awash in NSFW "Not safe for work" content. A quick search for subreddits of 'Pics' turns up group after group of porn, deviant fetishes, and nudity. So much so, younger people should not become a registered user.

Gaming the system
Reddit is hopelessly gamed. Rules are in place to prevent overzealous moderators and vote fixing but liberals easily circumvent this. Conservatives are subject to 'Downvote brigades'. This team effort leads to content not appearing popular. r/Politics subreddit is an example faking non-bias. Only liberal news content is allowed and removal of conservative content is the standard operating procedure.

During 2009, it was believed that the infamous Digg Patriots were actively engaging in censorship on the website by collectively banning liberal users and hiding liberal posts while promoting conservative posters. These actions were revealed in 2010, after a year long investigation leading to most of these users being banned from the service.

Conservative subreddits
Despite the overwhelming liberal bias on Reddit, there are a few subreddit a with conservative populations; such as /r/Conservative, /r/The_Donald, /r/Globalwarmingisfake and /r/CapitalismVSocialism.
and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful. I didn't 'fall out in church' as they say, but there was a very strong awakening in me of the importance of these issues in my life. I didn't want to walk alone on this journey. Accepting Jesus Christ in my life has been a powerful guide for my conduct and my values and my ideals.<br>There is one thing that I want to mention that I think is important. Part of what we've been seeing during the course of this campaign is some scurrilous e-mails that have been sent out, denying my faith, talking about me being a Muslim, suggesting that I got sworn in at the U.S. Senate with a Qu'ran in my hand or that I don't pledge allegiance to the flag. I think it's really important for your readers to know that I have been a member of the same church for almost 20 years, and I have never practiced Islam. I am respectful of the religion, but it's not my own. One of the things that's very important in this day and age is that we don't use religion as a political tool and certainly that we don't lie about religion as a way to score political points. I just thought it was important to get that in there to dispel rumors that have been over the Internet. We've done so repeatedly, but obviously it's a political tactic of somebody to try to provide this misinformation."</ref> Of course, what politicians claim while campaigning for an election, and what the truth is, are often two different things.
Real historians look at all the evidence, not merely what a politician campaigning for office says. The following is a list of evidence indicating that Obama is a Muslim:

*In early 2016, Obama refused to attend both of the Christian funeral services for Justice Antonin Scalia and the former First Lady Nancy Reagan - "[s]ome Muslim legal scholars assert that attending the funeral of a non-Muslim friend or relative can be wholly consistent with Islamic principles."
*In one of his rare speeches from the Oval Office, on Dec. 6, 2015 Obama devoted much of his 14-minute presentation to promoting Islam to the American people.
*Obama declared in prepared remarks, "The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans. Many other Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim-majority country - I know, because I am one of them."
*Obama's wife Michelle does not accompany him to Muslim nations because Sharia law would require her to wear a head covering as the wife of a Muslim man in a Muslim nation; on a presidential trip she was with him until France, but then returned home.
*In prepared remarks in April 2012, Obama referred to Jesus as "a" Son of God rather than as "the" Son of God: "And for me, and I’m sure for some of you, it’s also a chance to remember the tremendous sacrifice that led up to that day, and all that Christ endured—not just as a Son of God, but as a human being."
*Obama's background and outlook are Muslim, and fewer than 1% of Muslims convert to Christianity. Only after Obama became politically ambitious did he declare himself to be a Christian, yet he never replaced his Muslim name "Hussein" with a Christian one as some do when they undergo a religious conversion. For example, when the Italian journalist Magdi Allam recently converted to Christianity, he took a new name: "Cristiano". When Saul became a Christian, he changed his name to "Paul"; when the famous boxer Cassius Clay converted to Islam, he took the Muslim name of Muhammad Ali. "It is common for those converting to a new religion to change their name on conversion" or adopt a Christian name at baptism. Obama also used his middle name when sworn in as President. However, even if he were actually a Muslim, he would not necessarily have to change his name according to Muslim tradition.
*Obama said that "John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith," in an interview with George Stephanopoulos discussing whether John McCain's campaign has suggested that Obama is not a Christian. George Stephanopoulos—who had previously been a high-ranking Democrat in the Clinton Administration—then suggested that Obama change his answer to refer instead to "Christian faith."
*He has said that "Islam can be compatible with the modern world."
*Obama said the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset," and recited "with a first-class Arabic accent" the opening lines: Allah is Supreme! ... I witness that there is no god but Allah ...."
*Obama's unusual selection of Chuck Hagel, a former Republican senator most sympathetic to Muslim positions in the Middle East, to be Secretary of Defense despite intense objections by both political parties. Iranian State Press approves of the choice.
*Obama seems to emotionally hold a Muslim view about Israel, in contrast with Americans who have been educated as Obama has. Obama never visited Israel during his first term as president despite repeated criticisms of his failure to do so, he oddly waited many days before even mentioning the rocket attacks on Israel in late 2012, and he appears very uncomfortable even discussing issues related to Israel on television.
*Liberals at the New York Times and the Huffington Post fawn over the Indonesian ring that Obama has worn since long before his marriage to Michelle Obama. It has been reported that this ring has Islamic inscriptions.
*Obama stated that the Autobiography of Malcolm X, which was co-written by Alex Haley, inspired him in his youth.
*It was reported in 2008 that then state Senator Obama hired several staffers belonging to the Nation of Islam.
*Obama's claims of conversion to Christianity arose after he became politically ambitious, lacking a date of conversion or baptism.
*In 2007, while Obama was a candidate, the White House military office assigned him the Secret Service code name "Renegade". "Renegade" conventionally describes someone who goes against normal conventions of behavior, but its first usage was to describe someone who has turned from their religion. Wright’s Racist Rants Because 'He Wasn’t Much of a Churchgoer'] NewsBusters.org, June 16, 2009</ref>
*On the 2008 campaign trail, Obama was reading "The Post-American World" by Fareed Zakaria, which was a general discussion of US foreign policy that was on the non-fiction best-seller lists for weeks. Although Zakaria had Muslim ancestors, he is a non-Muslim educated at Yale with a Ph.D. from Harvard.
*Contrary to Christianity, the Islamic doctrine of taqiyya allows adherents to deny they are Muslim if it would be dangerous not to.
*Obama uses the Muslim Pakistani pronunciation for "Pakistan" rather than the common American one.
*Obama favors Pakistan, a Muslim nation, in its conflicts with India, a mostly Hindu nation. However, the Obama Administration's relationship with Pakistan could be driven by its critical role in the battle against al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.
*Obama was thoroughly exposed to Christianity as an adult in Chicago prior to attending law school, yet no one at law school saw him display any interest in converting. Obama unabashedly explained how he became "churched" in a 2007 speech: "It's around that time [while working as an organizer for the Developing Communities Project (DCP) of the Calumet Community Religious Conference (CCRC) in Chicago] that some pastors I was working with came around and asked if I was a member of a church. 'If you're organizing churches,' they said, 'it might be helpful if you went to a church once in a while.' And I thought, 'I guess that makes sense.'"
*Obama rarely attends church or has church services in the White House. "President-elect Barack Hussein Obama has yet to attend [Sunday] church services since winning the White House earlier ..., a departure from the example of his two immediate predecessors."
*In 2009, Justice John Roberts failed to administer the oath of office correctly while Obama placed his hand on a Bible. To avoid any claims that Obama was not the real President because of mis-stating the oath, Roberts dropped by the White House to re-administering the oath the next day, but no Bible was used for that private re-do of the oath.
*At the G-20 summit in April 2009, Obama bowed deeply to Saudi King Abdullah, a Muslim who is also the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Never before in the history of the U.S. has a president displayed such shocking deference to a foreign official and Obama has not bowed to any other royal leaders. One anonymous aide stated, "It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah." However, in video of the incident, Obama's left hand can clearly be seen staying at his side until after he had finished his bow. Additionally, Obama also met with Queen Elizabeth, who is much shorter than King Abdullah, but he did not bow when he shook her hand and neither he nor the queen appeared to have any difficulty. (Many liberals and even a handful of conservatives have proposed that President Bush also bowed before King Abdullah. However, there is a vast, inexorable difference between bending down to receive a medal as Bush did and bowing in deference to a foreign leader as Obama did.)
*Obama required that a religiously affiliated college take the extraordinary action of concealing with wood the monogram "IHS", which represents the name of Jesus, during a speech by Obama theredead link
*In 2006, Obama gave an irreverent speech about using the Bible in public policy. It resembled a stand-up comedy act, with Obama making fun of the books of the Torah, the Ten Commandments, the Sermon on the Mount and other key Biblical passages.
*In 2010, while Obama was president, the Missile Defense Agency changed its logo, incorporating a crescent and star. The new logo closely resembles that of the Iranian Space Agency. The new logo was designed in 2007, prior to Obama's election as president.
*In 2012, Obama participated in a $40,000 per plate fundraiser on Holy Thursday, which many devout Christians would find to be inappropriate.
*Obama supports a military invasion of Syria. This would involve working with the insurgency, which includes Al'Qaeda. Al'Qaeda killed over 3,000 Americans on our own soil, and was the main enemy in the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan during the Bush years.

Obama tries to downplay his Islamic background by claiming that his Kenyan Muslim father was a "confirmed atheist" before Obama was born, but in fact less than 1% of Kenyans are atheists, agnostics, or non-religious. There is apparently no evidence of any Christian activities or local church participation by Obama while he was in Massachusetts from 1988 to 1991. Finally, Obama abruptly left his radical Christian church in Chicago in 2008, when it became politically controversial, without first finding another church to join. On April 7, 2009, Obama toured a mosque in Istanbul, Turkey.

There are a number of counterexamples to Obama being a Muslim.

Obama's public eating of pork and drinking of alcohol
Barack Obama has been seen eating pork (Spam) and drinking alcohol.
Very few Muslims eat pork and drink alcohol as the Koran does not permit it (Koran 2:173; 2:219; 5:90-91; 6:118-119,121).

Obama administration and the homosexual agenda
Obama and the Obama administration has aggressively promoted the homosexual agenda via public policy and public statements. There is not a single Muslim country in the world that permits the homosexual agenda to be promoted.

The Koran has aniti-homosexuality passages (Koran 7:80-81; 26:165) and so does the Hadith. Amongst Islamic scholars, there is a consensus that homosexuality is unnatural and sinful. There are Islamic countries that have anti-homosexuality laws - including the death penalty.

Obama, liberal Christianity and liberalism
For many years, Obama attended a liberal Christianity church of a liberal Protestant variety which taught liberation theology. His daughter was baptised in this church.

Obama took his oath of office using two Bibles. Not a Koran
According to Fox News, "President Obama is putting a symbolic twist on a time-honored tradition, taking the oath of office for his second term with his hand placed not on a single Bible, but two -- one owned by Martin Luther King Jr. and one by Abraham Lincoln. "

Liberal Christianity does utilize the Bible in their religion (although they commonly believe it has errors) and commonly have Bibles in their churches, while Islam does not use the Bible in their religious observances and so mosques do not commonly have Bibles inside them. Muslims believe the Bible is partly a revelation from God, but a lot of the Bible has been corrupted.

Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison was not sworn in using a Bible
In November 2006, Democrat Keith Ellison, Muslim, won election to the House as a representative of his Minnesota congressional district. He became the first Muslim member of Congress. Although he planned on using a Koran to take his oath of office, he ultimately used no book to be sworn into office.

Liberal Christianity and religious syncretism and universalism
Obama is a liberal. Liberals often practice religious syncretism and are often universalists (or near universalists) who believe that there are many religious roads to heaven and few if any people go to Hell. So while Obama may be sympathetic to Islam due to his upbringing as a child, this does not necessarily mean he is a Muslim.

Liberal Christianity is for same-sex marriages
Liberal Christianity is for same-sex marriages. As noted above, Obama has promoted the homosexual agenda.

Staunch liberalism and Obama's absence at Scalia's and Nancy Reagan's funerals
Obama has consistently showed himself to the be a staunch liberal and is arguably the farthest left president the United States has ever had. Unlike Ronald Reagan who had a cordial relationship with Tip O'Neil, Obama rarely engages in bipartisanship and rarely (if ever) fraternizes with conservatives and frequently expresses loathing of conservatives/conservatism.

Obama's absence at the funerals of Antonin Scalia and Nancy Reagan is best explained by his antipathy towards conservatives and not antipathy to those who call themselves Christians.

Obama and attendance at Christian funerals
Obama has attended funerals where the departed had professed to be Christians during their lifetimes.

Obama openly wept at the funeral of Senator Daniel Inouye who was a United Methodist
Obama openly wept at the funeral of Senator Daniel Inouye who was a United Methodist (Some United Methodists practice theological liberalism while others are religious conservatives).

Liberals are often anti-Israel
While it is true that Muslims are commonly anti-Israel, leftists/liberals are also frequently anti-Israel.
Obama and Muslims praying five times a day
Muslims pray five times a day. While there have been negative reports about Obama and previous U.S. President from former Secret Service agents, not a single former Secret Service agent has claimed that Obama prays five times a day.

Obama and the month of Ramadan
Every year during the month of Ramadan Muslims fast from dawn until sundown and during this time they abstaining from food, drink, and sexual relations. No former Secret Service agents have reported that Obama observes Ramadan.

Obama administration and atheist organizations
Liberal Christians and atheists sometimes work together on various public policy issues (see: Atheism and liberal Christianity alliances).

There is significant conflict between atheism and Islam and Islamic governments imprison/censure atheists and Islamic zealots kill atheists (see: Atheism vs. Islam). Muslims generally have a very low opinion of atheism. The Obama administration is the first administration to met with an atheist group. It meet with the Secular Coalition for America which is a coalition which represents the American Atheists, the American Humanist Association, and the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers.

Obama, Muslims and dogs
Muslims commonly (though not all Muslims) have a very low opinion of dogs and consider them impure due to their interpretation of the Koran. For example, the International Business Times reported in 2014: "Owning a dog in Iran could result in 74 lashes under a new law passed by the Iranian government." Obama's family owns a dog.
