The robin (Turdus migratarius) is a bird that lives in parks in cities and other woodland-like habitats. It is common throughout the eastern half of North America, and also occurs in Europe. Robins are often seen on Christmas cards, because their blood-red breasts are a reminder of the blood of Christ, and (in England) because they are one of the few birds that does not migrate to warmer countries in winter.
