====Confrontation by Marjorie Taylor Greene====
On May 12, 2021, Georgia Republican representative [[Marjorie Taylor Greene]] confronted Ocasio-Cortez outside the House chamber over the latter's refusal to debate Greene about the Green New Deal, as well as calling Ocasio-Cortez out for her support of Antifa and other terrorist groups. Ocasio-Cortez refused to talk to Greene and walked away, after which Greene accused her of cowardice and called her a chicken for not wanting to debate her.<ref>[https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/05/marjorie-taylor-greene-confronts-chicken-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-outside-house-chamber-aoc-spox-calls-congress-safe-space-mtg/ Marjorie Taylor Greene Confronts “Chicken” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Outside House Chamber, AOC Spox Calls for Congress to Be a’ Safe Space’ from MTG] at the Gateway Pundit</ref> In response, liberals went into [[snowflake]] mode on Greene as some on Twitter defended Ocasio-Cortez, accusing Greene of "...(creating) a hostile work environment" and making other outlandish and false accusations against her, while Nancy Pelosi called for an ethics investigation of Greene based on specious claims of "verbal assault and abuse" and falsely claimed that Greene's peaceful confrontation of AOC was a "cause for trauma and fear among Members" and also falsely accused her of being "...a belligerent person not in control of themselves",<ref>[https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/05/pelosi-calls-ethics-investigation-marjorie-taylor-greene-verbal-assault-abuse-aoc-cause-trauma-fear-among-members/ Pelosi Calls for Ethics Investigation of Marjorie Taylor Greene for ‘Verbal Assault and Abuse of AOC’, a ‘Cause of Trauma and Fear Among Members’] at the Gateway Pundit</ref><ref name="Bartender AOC">[https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/05/bartender-aoc-mtg-kinds-people-threw-bars-time/ Bartender AOC on MTG: “These Are the Kinds of People That I Threw Out of Bars All the Time”] at the Gateway Pundit<ref> and Ocasio-Cortez herself tried to save face when speaking with reporters following the incident by claiming in a bravado-filled statement that in her bartending days, Greene was "...the (kind) of people that I threw out of bars all the time", then played the race card by falsely accusing Greene of being a "white supremacist";<ref name="Bartender AOC"/> Greene responded to AOC's comments by likening her to a child in how she handled the situation.
