The Reagan Revolution refers to an era and movement within American politics led by Ronald Reagan that aimed to reinvigorate American morale, and reduce the people's reliance upon government. This era began with the 1979-1980 presidential candidacy of Ronald Reagan and existed into Reagan's presidency. It saw a renewed sense of American patriotism and of the American conservative principles of limited government, economic freedom, individual freedom and a strong national defense.
