John H. Lynch (born November 25, 1952 in Waltham, Massachusetts) is currently the three term Governor of New Hampshire, having been elected in 2004 and reelected in 2006 and 2008. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1974, a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He would go on to became director of admissions at the Harvard Business School and work in finance as CEO of Knoll, Inc., a national furniture manufacturer.
In 2005 Lynch was polled by SurveyUSA as the most popular Democrat governor in the nation and the second most popular governor overall, behind Republican John Hoeven of North Dakota.[1] In 2009 Lynch signed legislation legalizing same sex marriage.[2]
