I believe that many of the events foretold in the Book of Revelation were actually fulfilled in World War II.
The beast? Hitler. Trumpets? The Holocaust and other war crimes and atrocities. The second beast could be Mussolini, or it could be Tojo. Perhaps the dragon is Mussolini. The rider on the white horse is Winston Churchill. Toward the end, the new city of Jerusalem? The subsequent founding of the State of Israel. The devil coming back out of the pit of fire? Anti-Zionism. Several direct references are made to war. There are references to the "whore," Germany? Afterwards, there is, "rejoicing in Heaven." I know that people rejoiced after the Allies won the war. Just a hypothesis.
