On January 6, 2021, Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky voted to certify the Biden electors. [1][2] However, he did not dismiss Democrat election fraud which was exploited to bolster CCP shill Joe "Truth over facts!" Biden; so why did he vote the way he did?
Paul, who repudiated the violence on January 6 amidst a protest largely consisting of peaceful protesters, believed that Congress should did not have the designated federal authority to overturn the effects of election fraud. [3] While his vote ultimately against election integrity is disappointing, his firm principles should not be completely ignored because he refused to deny that fraud took place, [4][5][6] notably enraging the Clown News Network. [7]

Conservative[note 1] Barry Goldwater has been smeared as a "racist" for voting against the final passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, [8] despite the fact that he had a lifelong pro-civil rights record, from backing desegregation his home state of Arizona [9] to supporting the Civil Rights Act of 1957. [10] He opposed the 1964 bill believing that it authorized the federal government to act outside of its designated authority, objecting to Titles II and VII of the legislation. [11] His vote was based on principles despite being misrepresented by many.
