The screenplay, based on inspired by [[Rosalind Wiseman]]'s ''Queen Bees and Wannabes'', was by Tina Fey, who also plays Cady's math teacher. The premise of the film is that In Cady's school , social life is ruled by The Plasticsdivided into various cliques, such as nerds, Asians, a stoners, and jocks. A clique of three wealthy girls. When Cady enrolls, a girl who had been victimized by the leader of (whom others call the "Plastics gets ") asks Cady to infiltrate the cliquejoin them.
