Jimmy Buffett
James William "Jimmy" Buffett (born December 25, 1946) is a singer-songwriter, movie producer, best-selling author, entrepreneur and cook. He is best known for his music that has an "island feel" to it. Buffett was born in Pascogoula, Mississippi, and was raised in Mobile, Alabama. With his Coral Reefer Band, he has performed many hit songs such as "Margaritaville" (No. 234 on RIAA's list of "Songs of the Century"), and "Cheeseburger in Paradise". Buffett also owns two restaurant chains named after these songs.[1]

Early life
Buffett spent a part of his childhood in Mobile. He attended St. Ignatius School in grade school and participated in the school band. He later lived in Fairhope, Alabama, and graduated from the McGill Institute for Boys in 1962. He played guitar during college at Auburn University, Pearl River Community College, and The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Buffett married Margie Washichek in 1969 and divorced in 1972. He has been married to his second wife Jane Slagsvol sinc then. They separated in the 1980s, but reconciled in 1991. They have two daughters, Savannah Jane and Sarah Delaney, and an adopted son, Cameron Marley.
Career
In the late 1960s, Buffett began his musical career as a country artist in Nashville, Tennessee. He recorded his first album Down to Earth. He then moved to Key West and recorded High Cumberland Jubilee.
Books
Buffett has topped The New York Times best-sellers' list three times, twice with his novels Tales from Margaritaville and Where is Joe Merchant, and once with his non-fiction book A Pirate Looks At Fifty.
