Walter Carlos

Walter/Wendy Carlos (born Nov. 13, 1949) is a leading proponent of synthesized music, traditional and newly-composed, especially for a series of recordings of J.S. Bach and other Baroque composers: Switched On Bach (1968), The Well-Tempered Synthesizer, (1969), and others. Carlos's albums popularized the music of Bach, Claudio Monteverdi, Domenico Scarlatti, and others and introduced electronic synthesizers to the general public in a way that was enthusiastically received.
