Conservapedia is needed in other Languages also!
As an user bored and fatigued with extreme leftism from wikipedia, and because in other languages wikipedia is even many more leftist and atheist; I need to contact with people as you in order to work in a spanish version from conservapedia. And I need to know if I can post articles on conflicts between catholics and evangelicals in Mexico. God Bless you!. Eliécer Guillén.

Thanks for the message, Joaquin! At the moment, I have nothing to recommend, though I've personally been working for a while on
expading Twentieth Century period (music). There are still a few more sections and references needed before I can consider it finished and ready for suggestion, but you might want to take a look yourself and feel free to add some media. My next section will be about Latin American composers, including a special mention of Carlos Chavez; I notice that you've been responsible for CP's article on him, so please add whatever you like.
All the best to you and yours, JDWpianist 13:13, 24 May 2009 (EDT)
Boy martyr
- What really happened may never be known. But the previously unthinkable theory, backed by considerable evidence, is that a Palestinian shot the boy in cold blood to create a needed martyr to advance the Palestinian cause. [1]
Based on the above, and my recollection of other reports, it's possible that the Arabs who attacked the Israelis also created a fake "martyr". --Ed Poor Talk 14:38, 27 May 2009 (EDT)
- It isn't exactly an unknown ploy, historically speaking, is it? The Nazi's and Communists frequently did and do employ such tactics, when it serves their political interests. To a committed Muslim, in point of fact, it would be an honor to be murdered in furtherance of their cause, same as the Homocide Bombers believe. Alinski merely used history to make his "Rules for Radicals" which are merely the tried-and-true tactics of terrorists down through the ages. --₮K/Admin/Talk 15:15, 27 May 2009 (EDT)

Empty set
I see you've added the bit about Christian mathematicians back to the page about the empty set. I'm a Christian math grad student, and I've never heard of anything like this. This was the only edit this user ever made to the CP and it reeks of parody. But I'm willing to believe I'm wrong and just haven't encountered this -- do you have more information? art article request
Joaquín,
I do like your art articles - especially when you feature Christian art. Could you please create these two articles: Christian paintings and Christian art. I think these two articles would be very beautiful articles since there is a lot of great Christian masterpieces. conservative 06:17, 21 September 2009 (EDT)
- Sure, it is a great idea! --Joaquín Martínez 07:26, 21 September 2009 (EDT)
- Thanks, I am especially looking forward to the Christian paintings. Perhaps, this will help: http://www.allposters.com/-st/Christian-Masterpiece-Posters_c5922_.htm conservative 04:05, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

- Joaquin, thanks for creating the article. I tweaked the title of the article plus a few headings so people could find your article easier via the search engines. People do more searches on Christian paintings rather than Christian painting. conservative 19:20, 26 September 2009 (EDT)
- Done, thank you for the advise. --Joaquín Martínez 17:03, 26 September 2009 (EDT)
- It is fine but I got 51,400,000 for Christian painting and 25,300,000 de Christian paintings in Google at this moment. --Joaquín Martínez 19:38, 26 September 2009 (EDT)
Expert help needed for images
Joaquin, you're the master at the images. I need to reduce the images in Economics Lecture Four to half size, but when I use smaller sizes (e.g., 200px) the images will not display. Do you know how this can be done? It would be immensely helpful if those images could be reduced, because they are interfering with the printing of the lecture. Thanks so much, and thanks for teaching us with all of your contributions.--Andy Schlafly 10:29, 21 September 2009 (EDT)
- Joaquin, thanks so much. Actually, I did more investigation and testing and just discovered that it was a long link that was causing the printing problem, rather than the images. That was bizarre. But your tip about preferring jpg to gif is very useful also. Thanks!--Andy Schlafly 16:45, 21 September 2009 (EDT)
Thank you
I appreciate your understanding. Godspeed to you as well. RoyP 12:27, 22 September 2009 (EDT)

Hello
Hello Joaquin;
You seem to be the artistic man on Conservapedia - I love the frontpage series - could you help me find/upload some good Stanley Spencer images? I just visited Sandham Memorial Chapel, which has some amazing and inspiring work by the man, but I can't find any good, free-use pictures of his frescoes. I was going to start an article on him and his work, and your help would be invaluable. Thankyou. AungSein 19:52, 31 October 2009 (EDT)
- OK, good idea! --Joaquín Martínez 08:00, 1 November 2009 (EST)
- Thankyou very much. AungSein 08:37, 1 November 2009 (EST)
- Again, thanks for all the images. I borrowed some of your article layouts, but as I'm not very experienced at this whole wiki thing, it came out a bit weird. It's nice to have someone who knows about art - I've been browsing through some of your masterpiece archives, and especially like the Posada. There's an exhibition on Mexican engraving on right now at the British library, I might try to bring some post-cards back. AungSein 09:58, 1 November 2009 (EST)
- Great! --Joaquín Martínez 10:19, 1 November 2009 (EST)
Masterpiece
Joaquin, the masterpiece is superb as always, but I think we can now move to the next masterpiece. This image might be a bit depressing to keep up all week. Thanks. Also, I'm going to suggest to User:Conservative that he trim the front page images near the bottom. Thanks much.--Andy Schlafly 16:57, 2 November 2009 (EST)
- Done. --Joaquín Martínez 17:29, 2 November 2009 (EST)
- Thanks! The new one is much more pleasant to look at, although does not make as lasting impression as the other one. :-) The prior one was very effective and a compelling work of art. Your presentation of the masterpieces has been superb and much appreciated by many people.--Andy Schlafly 17:41, 2 November 2009 (EST)
- Thanks Andy! --Joaquín Martínez 17:42, 2 November 2009 (EST)
If you please, I made a minor adjustment to your Masterpiece and World Treasure blocks on the main page; this was done to tighten up the whole and allow space for editorial cartoons as they come up. Hopefully, it works for you, but if not, feel free to revert it. Karajou 14:58, 4 November 2009 (EST)
- Take note. --Joaquín Martínez 22:35, 4 November 2009 (EST)
Allahu
Joaquin, "Allahu" has to mean "Allah", not God. The Muslim chant, which is what this is from, is to Allah, not God.--Andy Schlafly 19:49, 6 November 2009 (EST)
- Andy, the word "Allahu" means in Arab "God". It comes from: Al-lâh. "Al" means "the" and "ilah" means "god". --Joaquín Martínez 19:58, 6 November 2009 (EST)
- Joaquin, I have an open mind about this, but Muslims chant to "Allahu" and they're not chanting to "God", but to "Allah". I suspect that the sources that translate "Allahu" as God would also translate "Allah" as God, but theologically that is not precise. Allah is now a common English word all its own and should be used here, rather than replaced by God.--Andy Schlafly 20:01, 6 November 2009 (EST)
- I wonder if Arabic-speaking Christians/Jews refer to God as Allah/Allahu? -- Jeffrey W. LauttamusDiscussion 20:04, 6 November 2009 (EST)
- Good question, but this individual was Muslim, so I doubt it matters. He was referring to Allah. By the way, Allah has been an English word since ... 1584.--Andy Schlafly 20:05, 6 November 2009 (EST)
- Please try: [2] --Joaquín Martínez 21:03, 6 November 2009 (EST)
- Good point, Joaquin, and that seems to support your position. But on closer examination the dictionary is simply explaining what the English word "Allah" is: a synonym for God (which is an oversimplification). The dictionary is not translating "Allahu" as "Allah". Later on that page is the fuller definition, under "Word Origin & History": Allah 1702, Muslim name of the Supreme Being, from Arabic Allahu.--Andy Schlafly 21:33, 6 November 2009 (EST)
- Joaquin is correct, Andy. The Arabic word "Allah" is formed from the word "al" and "ilah" literally meaning "The Lord." Arabic speaking Christians and Jews also refer to God as Allah. Moreover, Muslims worship the God of Abraham, just as Christians and Jews do. Indeed, even Jesus called God "Allah." When he cried out to God, he said "Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani" or "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Eloi in Aramaic is the same word as Allah in Arabic.
- You seem to be under the impression that Muslims worship some deity whose name is Allah, which would be as wrong as me saying that Christians worship a deity named God. ArabicLesson 20:25, 7 November 2009 (EST)
- Christians do worship God, and Muslims submit to Allah. Allah has been an English word and the accepted translation of "Allahu" since 1584.--Andy Schlafly 23:45, 7 November 2009 (EST)
- Do you mean that the Muslim Allah is not the same deity as our Christian God? Cambrian 23:52, 7 November 2009 (EST)
- Christians do worship God, and Muslims submit to Allah. Allah has been an English word and the accepted translation of "Allahu" since 1584.--Andy Schlafly 23:45, 7 November 2009 (EST)
- According to dictionary.com, the word originated in 1702, not 1584. Furthermore, it is a synonym for the word 'God'. It is simply the Arabic word for God, used by Christians, Jews and Muslims speaking Arabic. Since the words God and Allah are synonyms, it doesn't particularly matter which is used, however I would argue in favour of using the word 'God' rather than 'Allah' when translating from Arabic into English. EJHall 23:56, 7 November 2009 (EST)

The Compact Oxford Dictionary defines "Allah" as "the name of God among Muslims (and Arab Christians)." The Cambridge Dictionary of American English says: "the Islamic name for God." The 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica: "the Arabic name used by Moslems of all nationalities for the one true God." The Catholic Encyclopedia: "The name of God in Arabic." - Dictionary.com is wrong in the date of origin for Allah in English.
- In response to Cambrian, the words are different, and have different meanings, differences that precise translation preserves.--Andy Schlafly 23:59, 7 November 2009 (EST)
- Apologies if you've done this before, but would you mind linking to a reference that supports your 1584 claim? EJHall 00:01, 8 November 2009 (EST)
- Thank you for your response. We learned in school that Muslims worship the same God as us Catholics do. Are you saying they don't? I would like to know more about this so I can speak with a Syriac priest at my school who grew up in Lebanon. Cambrian 00:12, 8 November 2009 (EST)

- Andy, you don't speak Arabic, so for you to claim authority on transliteration of Arabic is comical. Arabic uses modifiers to alter a root word to indicate relationships between words in a sentence. What you would transliterate as "Allahu Akhbar" is the word Allah modified by the "u" suffix to indicate the verb "to be" and then akhbar meaning "great" hence "God is great." Allahu is not a different word from Allah, as you suggest. It is the same word with a verb modifier. ArabicLesson 00:33, 8 November 2009 (EST)
