Reverting Vandalism

Thanks for fixing those articles. Your fast! --Tash 19:56, 8 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks, but I was just in the right place at the right time TheGuy 20:09, 8 November 2007 (EST)
  • Guy, we would have preferred you ask about changing your name, that way your old stats could be transfered to this new name! If you are interested in that, let me know. --şyŝoρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 22:55, 8 November 2007 (EST)

Good job at catching and reverting that small series of vandalism. Karajou 07:35, 9 November 2007 (EST)

Wow, you really are quick. I could only get to one of those pages! Greg 22:19, 9 November 2007 (EST)
Hehe trick I learnt from WP, use Firefox + multitab + open from their contributions rather than recent changes. You can undo all their changes in seconds :D TheGuy 22:22, 9 November 2007 (EST)
That's what I was doing, only multitab in IE. But by the time I'd reverted the first, I tried to edit each one and found you'd already been through! Greg 22:23, 9 November 2007 (EST)
Guess I just got lucky then TheGuy 22:49, 9 November 2007 (EST)

Expecting an answer about your accounts....

Anytime before I delete both of them will be fine. :D --şyŝoρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 22:37, 9 November 2007 (EST)

Oops, didn't see your message under the other header. Really it's completely up to you, EQ's been blocked by my request and the user pages redirect to this one, so the only thing that hasn't changed is the attribution within the history. Given that I didn't have that many edits under the old account then I don't want to be creating any unnecessary work. That said if it is a matter of policy then I guess it had better be done, so if that was the case where would we go from here? TheGuy 22:49, 9 November 2007 (EST)
  • There was a proper way. The pages were not re-directed by an Admin, but you. The account was not blocked at your request, is that it? Was blocked as a sock? You can IM me if easier, and please don't ping-pong posts! --şyŝoρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 00:26, 10 November 2007 (EST)
Sorry, thought they were two different issues. The pages were redirected by me so that anyone who clicked on the links in the history of an article ended up at my new account. I posted this message at 17:28 saying to feel free to block my old account, I was welcomed by BethanyS at 17:34 and EQ got blocked at this time. So I'm assuming that she read the message and blocked the account using the most technically correct description, and hence in essence blocked the account on my request (there's a better way to word that but I can't put my finger on it). In hindsight I should have realised that there was a better way to do it (rename by admin) but it didn't occur to me then. Hope this clears things up, I'll drop by on IRC just to check. TheGuy 00:35, 10 November 2007 (EST)
  • Thanks for straightening this all out! Yes, would have been better doing the re-name, but your way was sound, except Beth blocked you as a sock which would be a negative. I unblocked you, reblocked with proper explanation, so a while from now, when this is all forgotten, someone will have a clue. Thanks for your patience! --şyŝoρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 02:49, 10 November 2007 (EST)

Team Contest

Please visit our team's page here. ~ SharonTalk 08:53, 12 November 2007 (EST)

Hey, so the draft will not actually finish until Sunday, but the contest will still start tonight at 12a.m., so all that means is some of you will be getting points without knowing what team you're on. Remember to keep track of your points well, at a page like User:TheGuy/Contest4.--IDuan 21:08, 12 January 2008 (EST)

Barack Obama edit

To be fair with regard to your Barack Obama edit -- even if what Obama did or claimed wasn't asinine, the article cited really _did_ make that stupid claim, exactly as quoted.Coas 00:35, 23 February 2008 (EST)

Yes, that's sadly true. Pretty much anyone can say anything these days and we're expected to believe it, which is why encyclopedias don't use blogs or opinion pieces as sources. TheGuy 00:41, 23 February 2008 (EST)

Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks! :-) Coas 00:45, 23 February 2008 (EST)

Liberal obfuscation

Actually, Wikipedia does not recognize liberal obfuscation. The article was deleted soon after you wrote it. Blinkadyblink 16:26, 13 March 2008 (EDT)

TheGuy, it plainly states on signup that email is required. I need to ask why you have two accounts on CP, one blocked. --₮K/Admin/Talk 23:45, 10 January 2009 (EST)

I don't. TheGuy 00:02, 11 January 2009 (EST)
Are you using a proxy server, an anonymous proxy? --₮K/Admin/Talk 00:05, 11 January 2009 (EST)
No. TheGuy 00:08, 11 January 2009 (EST)
