Taro Aso

Taro Aso (jap. 麻生太郎 = Asō Tarō) (b. Iizuka, Fukuoka, 1940), a Roman Catholic, is the Prime Minister of Japan since September 24, 2008. He is also the secretary-general of his political party, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). Aso is graduated from Gakushuin University, and studied at Stanford University and the London School of Economics. He is known for his conservative nationalistic political views.
Aso is married to Chikako. He is related by marriage to the Japanese Imperial Family.
Aso's Cabinet, which had five first-time appointees -- including Yuko Obuchi, who at 34 became the nation's youngest postwar cabinet member -- was inaugurated the same evening following an attestation ceremony at the Imperial Palace. [1]
