Talk:Prison
From Conservapedia
"either because they have been accused of a crime and they are trial or because they have been convicted of a crime and they are serving a sentence." is not correct. Jails or detention centers are used to house individuals awaiting trial (pretrial detention) while prisons are used for people convicted of crimes. Also, indicating prisons creates jobs is a strange statement. What does that imply? Let's lock people up so others can work?
- Thanks for your comments. The prison system is a huge business in the United States that is profitable for those who have jobs working for it. Sometimes this does distort the incentives.--Aschlafly 10:14, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
