Talk:Cuba
From Conservapedia
Wow! Someone let a lefty section of this article slip past the censors. Hooray for free speech!
- I haven't taken geography since sixth grade, but I don't think Cuba is in the Gulf. Could be wrong though. GodlessLiberal 21:58, 30 April 2007 (EDT)
- You are correct, I fixed it. --Colest 22:06, 30 April 2007 (EDT)
- technically, cuba is not a "communist country". it is a socialist country.--Iconoclastbeggar 19:59, 7 January 2008 (EST)
- Technically, you are in fact wrong. The Republic of Cuba is
ruledgoverned by the Communist Party of Cuba; also, as any fule no, within the communist "naming system", for want of a better word (it's late here) "Communist state" is never used to name a state: a state, in their ideology, is either in a "capitalist" or "socialist" state, not a "communist state", which is by their definition a contradiction in terms. File:User Fox.png Fox (talk|contribs) 20:03, 7 January 2008 (EST)- soooo, didn't you just prove my point?--Iconoclastbeggar 20:42, 29 January 2008 (EST)
- There have been many countries that have declared themselves communist but I think none of them are actually communist; they're dictatorships that use communism as an excuse to do whatever they want. You might notice that communist countries are easily controlled by the government than non-communist ones, so communist is the perfect excuse for dictators. In South America, we see the opposite. Having been told by the U.S. of the evils of communism, South American dictators use Anti-communism as an excuse to hold power. They accuse any opposing party of being communist and then they jail them. -Sundance

Sundance that last sentence is quite dated; now it is fashionable to claim to be "socialist," that allows "nationalization" and looting of private industry, e.g. Hugo Chavez, and Evo Morales. El Jigue 6-10-08
Thank you for your kind welcome. Will pay attention to rules but I am somewhat clumsy and often need to correct myself. El Jigue 6-7-08
- People often claim Castro is dead when he's not. Conservapedia is not a rumor mill - we will report his death when it is actually documented. DanH 03:50, 10 June 2008 (EDT) One must also keep in mind that Fidel Castro's health is an official state secret.Jigue

- Then that's all the more reason not to claim he's dead if no one knows for sure. DanH 20:47, 11 June 2008 (EDT)
Sysop ruling: The term "communist country" means a country ruled by a Communist Party (or a Marxist-led "Workers Party"). No one ever gets this confused with the theoretical ideal stage of society proposed by Marx, wherein the socialist dictatorship "withers away"; see Communism (ideal). --Ed Poor Talk 18:01, 7 July 2008 (EDT)
