Backyard cricket is the sort of thing that naturally happens when a bunch of Aus or NZ guys get together. There is no explaining it, suddenly someone has retrieved a stick or old bat from somewhere and someone else will conjure up a ball. MaxFletcher 23:58, 21 July 2011 (EDT)

I think much fun has been taken out of beach cricket since the anti-dog brigade have had their way. I live in Tasmania where the sea temperature is not exactly comfortable. A well trained Labrador at square leg was invaluable. Now the batter can run to and fro whilst the fielders argue about whose turn it is to freeze their feet off. AlanE 20:00, 7 July 2012 (EDT)
