Suleiman the Magnificent

Suleiman the Magnificent (1494 - 1566 A.D.) was the most illustrious sultan of the Ottoman Empire ruling from 1520 to 1566. He was also known as Suleiman Kanuni, "The Lawgiver". Under his rule, the Empire significantly expanded by conquering lands in the Balkans and eastern Mediterranean.
