Street Fighter (Japanese: Sutoriito faitaa) is a popular one-on-one martial arts fighting game series by Capcom. The series was started in 1987, with the release of the first game into the arcades.

The protagonists of this game series are Ryu and Ken, two young masters of a fictional martial art called Ansatsuken, who travel the world searching for stronger opponents to fight.

Though the game contains martial arts violence, albeit with little or no blood, and features somewhat revealing dresses for female fighters, it could generally be considered better for younger teenagers to play than Mortal Kombat, which sports ever-increasing blood, gore, and graphic violence.
