Shunzhi (1638-1661, Emperor of China 1641-1661) was the first Emperor of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911 A.D.), which was the last to rule China before the setting up of the Chinese Republic. He was the second Emperor of this Manchurian dynasty, but the first to rule as Emperor of China.
