The Monymusk Reliquary is considered Scotland's greatest national treasure. It was created around 750AD by monks from Iona as a casket to hold the bones of St Columba.

The reliquary was carried by the Scottish army at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314AD in the belief that it would bring victory. The reliquary is now kept in the Museum of Scotland.
