Medistem Inc. is an American public company founded in October 2005 traded on the OTC Bulletin Board Market. Its stated mission is "to discover, develop and commercialize technologies related to adult stem cell extraction and manipulation for use in treating inflammatory and degenerative diseases".
As of August 2008, the company has a variety of products in various stages of development which are covered by patent applications. Although Medistem utilises stem cells they are only derived from non-controversial, adult stem cells.
Medistem's patent applications include novel uses of stem cells, methods of stem cell expansion, methods of cancer treatment and new approaches to conditions such as autism and neurodegenerative illnesses.
