Igor Gouzenko

Igor Gouzenko was a Soviet sleeper-agent in Canada who defected to Canada with classified documents in 1945, helping to set off the Cold War.

Gouzenko's defection, called "The Gouzenko Affair" entailed the arrest and prosecution of a number of Communist agents and organizers within Canada, including Fred Rose, a member of parliament.
