Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik (Italian: Ragusa) is a major port city in Croatia, located in southern Dalmatia. The current population is 44,000.

The city has tall, impressive walls, which reflect its establishment as a fortified city in the Adriatic Sea. After the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1991, Dubrovnik was heavily bombed by Serb forces.
