Dogma is a belief or doctrine that is held to be correct and above dispute. Orginally applied to views held by religions, it is also applied to political ideology and scientific ideas.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ might be a dogma within Christianity whereas the right to free speech might be a dogma within Democracies.
