The City of Danbury is a municipality located in Greater Danbury, Fairfield County, Connecticut. The seventh largest city in Connecticut[1], its population is estimated at 79,256 (as of 2008) [2].
Danbury uses the Mayor-Council system of government, with the Mayor presiding over Common Council meetings. Unlike other cities, municipal elections have candidates based on party affiliation. The current mayor, a Republican, is Mark Boughton, serving his fifth two year term.
