i posted some information on the Bias in wikipedia article- specificly #54 talking about suicide, and it was removed a few hours later. I was serious when i said that getting ifnformation about it and it's motives can help prevent it. I don't know how that could have been seen as "vandalism".
- This is what you posted: "You do understand that knowing about suicide and peoples' motives for doing it, can prevent it from happening. Right?"
- That is not a statement of fact which would belong in the article; it was a statement of personal opinion as if you were talking with someone on a talk page. It made no sense in the context which you put it, therefore it was removed. Karajou 12:56, 21 October 2009 (EDT)
Major registration problem!
Hi.
My real name is Bruce Limber, and I just tried to register here (in the past couple days) under my name BruceDLimber. Some GENIUS of an administrator there rejected my registration and blocked my account permanently because I listed my true place of work and work email address as my contact point! :-( I am a current, legitimate employee of the US Internal Revnue Service, as this person could have easily confirmed had he or she bothered to email me (which didn't happen before I left Friday evening)! The fact that my email address says IRS.GOV is clearly no excuse for blocking my account, ESPECIALLY before even bothering to try to confirm whether it's honest or not! Kindly unblock my BruceDLimber account at once, and tell the idiot in question to CHECK UP on things like this before taking such knee-jerk actions, the more so given that this has COMPLETELY PREVENTED me from being able to reach any administrator from my own account to point out the error and unfairness of this! (And worse, the block was put in as permanent! :-( This is clearly an extreme overreaction for which there's no excuse for ANY sort of first-time "violation!")
Not to mention that being blocked for this "reason" merely makes the administrator doing the blocking look like a bigot: there really are a bunch of good people who work for this agency (as well as many others) that not everybody may much "like" for whatever reason! Would he or she prefer that we simply lie when we register?! I--for one--am very offended at this action and frankly resent the presumption.
Thank you for your attention to this.
Now, that said, the only reason I'm here at all is because I wanted to bring to your attention (or to the attention of the correct administrator) a classification error that he or she recently made in regard to the status of the Baha'i Faith in your information areas.
The person in question made the statement that it has been removed from the list of Abrahamic religions because Baha'is also accept other Divine Messengers such as Zoroaster and Buddha. While this is true, it's also a great error because: 1) this is totally irrelvant to whether it's Abrahamic, and 2) it completely overlooks the most important fact about the Faith in respect to Abraham!
Specifically, this is the fact that all the founders of the Baha'i Faith are themselves descendants of Abraham fully as much as were Jesus and Muhammad! Indeed, they're descended from ALL THREE of Abraham's wives! And I put it to you that you can't get much more Abrahamic than that!
I therefore humbly request that you change the Baha'i Faith's classification back from general religion to Abrahamic religion, for which my thanks in advance! (Accuracy about such things is important, I suggest.)
(BTW, there's also another Abrahamic religion for the same reason as above that you can place on the Abrahamic list between Islam and the Baha'i Faith: the Babi Faith, though extremely small and little-known, is also eminently Abrahamic as the Bab, too, was a descendant of Abraham (as well as of Muhammad, BTW). And it, too, is a living religion today.)
Thank you for your attention to these matters!
I'd very much appreciate your contacting me at the email address I provided on this temporary alias account so that I could post this message to you, and letting me know what's been done.
Thanks again for the assistance!
Bruce D. Limber
- I am the "genius" who blocked you the first time, and your use of an IRS computer was the reason why. Perhaps, instead of explaining to my bosses why you were blocked, you should explain to your's. Karajou 00:40, 18 January 2009 (EST)
Open Issues
This is a sock account created by pitchfork_bifurcation. I can no longer log into my account because of the space. It says my user account name is invalid. Is it possible to fix this, and if not can the sysop change the name to pitchforkbifurcation? bifurcation
- Sorry this may not be a lot of help, but the space shouldn't be a problem; I have two in mine. In quoting your old username above, you put underscores in place of the spaces. Did you do that when you tried logging in? (You shouldn't.) And only a bureaucrat, not a sysop, can change the user name on your account. Philip J. Rayment 20:14, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
- Well, I tried both with a space and with an underscore, but neither worked. They both give me an invalid name. I'll try talking to a bureacrat. Thanks for the information. bifurcation
In Breaking News, Gillmor is misspelled as Gilmore. Congressman Gillmor is the one who died unexpectedly.
I am questioning this page , section no.2 "Internal rivalries sink John McCain's lost campaign for the job of President of the United States of America.[2] Advice to McCain: stop acting like a liberal and start being a conservative. But is it too late for him?" It doesn't sound fair and the citation is ultra-liberal WaPo. Is it a lost campaign or is it equally a campaign to lose by either party? McCain has always worked with liberals across party lines, some people choose to work with anybody. He is not a liberal on the type of Supreme Court judges he wants. He is not liberal on voting to ban partial birth abortion. --jp 18:12, 9 June 2008 (EDT)
In progress
Hi,
I just signed up with Conservapedia. I am a Christian author who has written a couple of books on religion, etc. and would like to post an entry about my work in addition to other contributions that I will make from time to time.
How do I go about doing the above?

Wanted Pages
I've been observing here for about 3 months now, and have found a few pages in which I feel I can make significant improvements. I was curious, however, if you have a list of "wanted pages" or red links. I've got some more time on my hand and hope to become a great contributor.
Many thanks,
Targeted By Liberals
Just added a page Jessica's Law. Not even one day later, large sections are being deleted. I keep trying to add information but the deletes are making it impossible to add content if my work is scrutinized to a liberal degree. I am being stalked by Jareddr.--jp 13:51, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
- Clarification: It was me who deleted the sections. And I deleted them because they were copy-pasted from the JML Foundation site (which is copyrighted) and the NBC6 site (which is also copyrighted). Also, why do you blame "liberals"? This is about copyright and site rules, not politics. --KevinM 13:55, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
The reference file is in there. You are a liberal because the same meaning can come from two different words, so you erroneously decide it is a copyright and delete. No sentance is taken word for word and you know it without a reference. --jp 13:58, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
- Is the material a copyright violation? HenryS 13:59, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
- Yes. If you give me some time, I will do a side-by-side comparison, even though it would be a waste of my time. --KevinM 14:02, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
- A side by side comparison is not needed, thanks. Why not try to rewrite it and make it acceptable? HenryS 14:04, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
- If you meant me specifically: Mostly because I'm short on time and have Paul-Henri Thiry and Encyclopedists on my list already. The more global question is where to draw the line between encyclopedic fact and the surrounding story, especially in the article about the law (as opposed to the person). --KevinM 14:07, 29 June 2008 (EDT)

- From the JML website:
- "The Jessica Marie Lunsford Foundation has been established to help children in crisis. Our children are our last hope in this world. There is an evil that preys on the innocence of these precious souls and the Jessica Marie Lunsford Foundation is a result of one man's struggle with this evil which has claimed his daughter's life. We cannot get rid of this evil...but we can contain it, so that our children can be free." [1]
- From the first draft to the Jessica's Law article here [2], Jpatt did use the above edit under the subtopic "Helping children in crisis"; it was previously used as the actual lead-in paragraph. The website states it is copyrighted, so KevinM was right to remove the material. Karajou 14:09, 29 June 2008 (EDT)

- I love how other users give their two cents, waiting on authority sysop to rule--jp 14:26, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
Does CP not want content? Are there too many chiefs and not enough indians doing edits? I am just beginning to learn wiki formats. Why does my efforts get deleted in near entirety? That article never existed yet anybody can decide if it will the absolute minimal. Liberals give 1000 cuts of excuses for reasons to delete (not correct article); copyright when in fact fair use, quotes not allowed because lifted word for word from the reference I give. I agree, my work is not grade A, yet. I will add a Jessica Lunsford page. Because it will include information about her killer, do I have to create a Couey page as well? These people that delete spend much time here then give excuses why they can't just edit. They would better serve CP by not deleting content.--jp 17:00, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
- Jpatt, below the edit page for every new article are the following words:Please note that all contributions to Conservapedia may be edited, altered, or removed by other contributors. If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then don't submit it here. You are also promising us that you wrote this yourself, or copied it from a public domain or similar free resource (see Conservapedia:Copyrights for details). DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED WORK WITHOUT PERMISSION!
- It would be an idea to take these on board. Bugler 17:07, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
- Hey thanks Bugler, what would I have done without you? edited and deleted are two different situations. Fair use of a copyright is exceptable for reference and quotes. I will be more aware not to cut and paste.--jp 17:13, 29 June 2008 (EDT)
- You're not helping yourself by being sarcastic. Bugler 17:16, 29 June 2008 (EDT)

- There are endless excuses. You can nit pick the whole site and come up with all sorts of violations. Copyrights, pictures, quotes and sources. e.g. photo of Barack Obama not placing his hand across his heart during the pledge. That's copyright, CP didn't get approval because it is fair use. My major error was bringing details to her life and to Couey as background content. You can make the case it belongs on a whole other page. Your work here is appreciated, Jpatt. Please don't take differences of opinion and edits to your work to heart. Bugler 18:15, 29 June 2008 (EDT)

Image Question
hi, I uploaded this image: Image:LunarEclipse.jpg (and I documented that it is expressly allowed to be used from the NASA site) then I added it to the page: Lunar eclipse but I noticed that the image info says "no pages link to this image". I was wondering why this is? I would not be concerned except that I've seen images are routinely deleted that are not used in pages, and wouldn't want that to happen. Also, how can I request the image be "protected"? Thanks! Taj 23:46, 14 July 2008 (EDT)
- Taj, Thanks for uploading the image and inserting it into the article. I fixed the link problem. I believe it was because of the ? in the link. I removed it and now it's ok. To protect the image, you can contact an admin like you just did. Also, it's better to make your subject "Image Question" a section instead of just bolding it. --DeanStalk 03:20, 15 July 2008 (EDT)
questionable entries
there are two recent entries Bob Godlover and Tact which I think are inappropriate for an encyclopedia. I didnt want to edit or remove them in case I am being overly critical. Tact may just need some editing. I posted this to User aschlafly talk page before I found here. regards Markr 10:51, 1 October 2008 (EDT)
sorry to be a pain , but could someone check the entry June 7th ? I dont understand why a lot of dates have an entry that contains no information. An entry that has a bunch of historical events for that date appears to have been reverted .. thanks Markr 15:28, 6 October 2008 (EDT)
John McCain
reverted edit - can someone check it please - vandalism Markr 16:42, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

Date entries
are these being kept or should they be marked for deletion I came across Jan 21,22,23,24,25 using random page Markr 16:11, 17 October 2008 (EDT)

- I'm going to take this for action; the first is to ensure the image has been corrected or removed (I was under the impression at the time that images of the Bible were copyright-free) as you atated. The other is to remove you from the site. You posted your message nine times in the space of a few minutes, when the one on my talk page alone should have sufficed. And your insistence of an Irish proxy didn't help your case either. Karajou 15:37, 18 December 2008 (EST)
Name change
Who do I contact about a name change? When I first registered here I picked a frivolous "handle" as is usual on the Internet, but I understand this is frowned upon now. Could somebody with the ability to do so please change my name to GregL Parrothead 19:26, 3 January 2009 (EST)
- Greg, I believe Andy is the only one with this power, so it's best to contact him on his talk page. -Foxtrot 00:34, 4 January 2009 (EST)
Can't Access?
I can't access this site from home. I keep getting a "Forbidden" error and it says it couldn't find the 404 page, I can't access any part of the site. When I try from a proxy or my Blackberry (which I'm on) and it loads fine. I don't know what's up, if its the site or me.--Tyler 10:45, 4 February 2009 (EST)
Book sources
I just added a book's ISBN number, which now hyperlinks to a page called "book sources", which seems to be a wonderful thing that can click to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and two other places to look up / purchase the book. Three of those links work, but the Amazon one does not. I do not know how the "book sources" mechanism works, or whether the problem is at Amazon or with an out-of-date URL for their service. It's using something with "exec/obidos". My tests indicate that http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=9780486612263 gets the book correctly.
