Chester Alan Arthur was the 21st President of the United States of America, serving from 1881 to 1885. He was born in Fairfield, Vermont on October 5, 1829. He served as President after President Garfield was shot down by an angry Stalwart. He served in office from 1881 to 1885. He died in 1886. [1]
