Cato the Censor

Cato the Censor, also called Cato the Elder, lived from 234 to 149 BC. He was a Senator, soldier, and consul of the Roman Republic. He urged Rome to destroy Carthage, ending every speech with the famous phrase "Carthago delenda est", "Carthage must be destroyed".
