Ansel Adams (1902-1984) was an American photographer who excelled in nature photography. Part of an elite group of artists known as the "Stop 64" club (for its devotion to the use of high aperture settings to accentuate depth of field), Ansel Adams became famous for his high-detail photographs of Yosemite National Park. He is still a benchmark by which other American photographers are judged.
